Today is Sunday time to look back in the rearview mirror and talk about my week . I am linking up to the Sunday Post hosted for years by Kimberly@caffeinatedreviewer .
In my private life
Not much to tell this week.
I went to the office last week for a work meeting and workshop with all the managers of my direction. We were told to wear a mask when moving from our table but…the only one who did it was me and another manager!
Worse, when one talked to me, face to face, she leaned in and in and in…and I was leaning back and back and back…until I was sitting on the desk and couldn’t go back further or fall behind the table!
I was so uneasy because we didn’t wear masks and I didn’t know how to tell a colleague/manager to “please keep your distance”!
I get that we probably were all vaccinated but still, I like my social distancing.
Let’s just hope that she hadn’t COVID or me neither for that matter!
Yesterday I went to an extra long aquaboxing class because it was the last day our fitness coach could give us that class. He isn’t vaccinated, refuses to be and we have the COVIDSafe being enforced everywhere as from end of this month in my hook of the woods and from next week in the capital city.
That means that you have either to be vaccinated either have a negative test or either be healed from COVID to be able to go to the restaurant, fitness club, theater…and even the hospital except for the ER.
So we’ll see how it goes.
Already, old people or more fragile ones are being called for their third jab. I hope this will help!
Last thing to mention: I will at the end of this month ditch the “Classic Editor” on Worpdress as it won’t be supported by the beginning of 2022. So I might bite the bullet as well and go to the block editor or what’s been also called the “Gutenberg” editor.
I have no idea what my blog will look like, if all my plugins will work with it nor if I’ll learn it fast or not (usually I am a very fast learner). So expect things looking maybe odd for some time here 😉Â
And I forgot! I made three more new funko pops!
One of Evangeline from Once Upon a Broken Heart and two of Jacks from Caraval/Once Upon a Broken Heart.
Evangeline and blue hair Jacks will ship next week to the UK while blonde Jacks will adorn my shelves.
And last some humor from my story today 😆 .
On the blog this week (click on the graphic to read the post)
I reviewed two books and read three! The one not reviewed is Blood Heir and it was a very good audiobook but I had no time to review it.
.
And I had a field day with this week’s Top ten Tuesday talking about bookish peeves.
Thanks for reading!
Sophie
WHAT?! No more classic editor?! Even with the plugin enabling it to stay?
Oh my god.. I should get onto that to then, nooo – Though I will say that I like the spacing bloc, as the classic one do gives me trouble with my spacing and deleting them all lately. (which piss me off to no end!)
Arhh- yes thoses are the worst. I’d just slap them like “EXCUSE ME! you’re too close, back up further my dude.” We are ALSO in a lockdown, but nobody even care at this point.. magority of the cases being in schools (in people 19 and lower) and they REFUSE to close them soo. Also we have this stupid rule you can’t chill with anyone that’s not living with you BUT in a public place that check the vaccinations properly it’s okay (what even is that. like what the hell?) — Oh and everything remain open too.
Mother got her 3rd jab too! We’re moving onto elders in senior homes and stuff.. but ainly only us seem to care about this issue aswell so exhausting to see people being nutcases at work.. the other day one claimed it was for taking out, so no need to show vaccines, and proceeded to sit on a rock right beside out entry door. like WHAT. I was in such a fury- but couldn’t do anything as my boss said to let it go as they weren’t gonna be that long if they sat on that (i didnt thought so.. but..)
Oh my Kristina that seems so bad!
The block editor is absolutely obnoxious imo. Chelsea, Arielle, Cassie and I were texting each other trying to figure out how to make it work in the beginning. Now we have the hang of it but hugs! DM me if you have any questions, good luck!
Thank you for that offer Jen!!!! <3
I totally get that you were uncomfortable without the mask and social distancing as I’m the same way. I feel like I’m the only one at the office who still prefers to wear the mask when walking around and people look at me funny – but I guess I just need more time. Love the Funko Pops!
Thank you Lindsey!
Yeah… I very much value personal space and that was true even before covid. Our office imposes the same rule with unmasked whilst sitting at desk but getting up, moving around, kitchens, bathrooms, meeting rooms etc are masked. Most people – like pretty much all – are very good at sticking to it. I will say though that it feels slightly pointless sometimes when you go from the office to the supermarket and in the supermarket you’re pretty much the only one wearing a mask because the UK gov. isn’t mandating them any more even with Delta being rampant… *sigh/scream*
Glad you seem to be doing okay otherwise, Sophie! 🙂
Thank you Nicci!
Grrr…I’m having so much trouble with WordPress, it’s driving me nuts! Why do I pay so much for it to be so buggy?!?! Anyway, I can’t wait to read Vespertine, loved Sorcery of Thorns! Have a great week Sophie!
I’ve never been a fan of people invading my personal space, but now… ack! As people get close, I take giant steps back. It’s like, why would you presume I am safe to be close to? I’m trying to keep me AND you safe and healthy!
Exactly!!!
Last October – smack in the middle of Bad Moon Rising on my blog – my classic editor disappeared with no warning, and I had to learn Gutenberg that very night to get the post up the next day. Honestly, it wasn’t that bad. I still have issues with it, but the learning curve wasn’t what I’d expected. I think you can do it, Sophie.
Thank you for the vote of confidence Teri!
That person speaking to you without a mask on must have been blind to both safety measures and body language, because they did not understand your constant need to retreat. Even before Covid, it would have been bad manners to crowd on someone that way!
I know right?
Even before covid I would give anyone I interacted with a comfortable distance. It’s just polite to respect people’s personal spaces lol!
Exactly!!
Yeah, that sounds like an awkward situation at work! If you were wearing a mask you should be okay. Have a great week, Sophie!
You too Rachel!
I have always been about my space, so I would never be able to handle the close talkers. Eek! When I first switched to WP, I tried the classic editor (which was pretty much like blogger), but I found I liked the block editor better. It’s easy once you start doing it. I promise!
I hope to master it too Sam!
Its interesting about the classic editor….I have the plugin for it, because some of my posts due to my theme, I can only do with the classic editor, but most of my other posts I have been using the block editor. I am enjoying it the more I use it but I would start trying to use it and get comfortable with it.
I hope I’ll master it in no time!
I like my distancing too so that lady would have made me very uncomfortable. I hadn’t heard that news about the Classic Editor yet so thanks for the head’s up. I’ve been avoiding the Block Editor because I hated it but I guess I’ll have to give it a second try soon.
Well that would be me in a few weeks!
It’s a little scary when people aren’t careful with masking or distancing. I loved Blood Heir! I’m glad to see you enjoyed it also.
I can so imagine you backing up as someone tries to get closer and closer! I hope things get better in all social context ASAP! Take care. 😀
Thank you Lashaan! You too!
I don’t understand the people who won’t mask but want to get all close and businesslike lol. Or the ones who refuse to get vaxxed. Is it that hard to put others before ourselves? I mean, it’s not like they’re being asked to jump off a bridge! Unbelievable. and we have a lot of people like that here too- businesses say they require masks (including at work) and people just do… whatever.
I also like keeping my distance, I would’ve said I needed the loo and read off!!!! Lovely update Sophie xx
Thank you Caro!
Even before COVID, I was uncomfortable with people that close when they talked. It is unsettling! I’m very distressed about the end of the classic editor. I do not have time to figure out gutenberg!!!
I get it Samantha. If I learn something useful I can help you with it!
