Hi dear friends,
The Sunday post is a weekly meme hosted @Caffeinated Reviewer. Time to look back on my week and talk about life events and blog related news.
Personal news first
I would like to apologize if I did not like and comment on your posts since Friday but yesterday I took a holiday from blogging!
I had just gotten this ARC of Samantha Young “The Fragile Ordinary” and when I began reading it I just decided that I wanted to read it in one day! It worked perfectly with my mood and was effortless. I identified with the heroine nose always stuck in a book…
Then as I was decidedly “blog dieting” I went all in an went to the movie theater with my daughter. Girls night!
The movie was book related as it was The Guernsey Literary Circle adaptation of “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society” by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows.
I loved the book and I loved the movie!
It has three actors from Downtown Abbey series and all the English “vibe” that I so love. You know no dramatic effects, no big special effects but attention to historical details. We really had a good time!
It was the perfect way to conclude an exhausting week filled with work and the kids finals (still one week to go!). I also got my blood results and everything was perfect! Pfew. I only have to go back for a check in four months to the doctor but no further testing and proding in the meanwhile.
Next week will be hectic again and filled to the brim until the school ends by the end of June.
On the blog
I had a very busy and funny week on the blog!
I have read four books but reviewed two so far! Of the four of them one was a miss and I’ll write the review next week.

A Wish for Us was a 5 stars emotional read!
Atticus is …. a unique read and my book crush of the month so far. 5 stars.
Every day I posted some part of James Cudney alias Jay’s interview and it got many reactions. I am so happy as he and his books deserve all the attention! Once again I want to thank Jay as he really gave it all!
Here are the links from day one to day seven (in reading order).

Then as I was lucky to get an interview with …Atticus the dog and his mom Sawyer Bennett!
This dual POV interview was really fun and Sawyer has been revealed under a light I did not know! If you want some fun just read it clicking on the graphic below.
I also took part in different weekly memes Top 5 Tuesday with favorite covers in colors blue, green and purple. The WWW Wednesday , I Heart Characters (about a flying character) and the First Impression Friday!
Then to my utter astonishment I learned that I had won the second book blogger award in the category romance right alongside Cammilea, Ari and Kayla all fantastic fellow bloggers. I’m still not recovered! I’m not the biggest blog and even if I pour everything I’ve got into this I never expected to win! So thank you to everyone who voted! I am honored and humbled! Read below to see all the winners!
Now on the blogosphere I found Kaleena’s post very interesting especially as the RSS feed was a mystery for me…. https://readervoracious.wordpress.com/2018/06/14/how-to-set-up-rss-readers-and-why-you-should-use-them/
And as usual Evelina is generous and introduces new bloggers! http://avalinahsbooks.space/newbloggerswelcome-2/
This was my week! How was your week?
Leave a comment and I’ll comment back 😉
Happy Sunday!
Sounds like you recharged and ready to go! Taking a break is refueling! Didn’t know The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society had been made into a movie. Loved the book, will have to hunt it down and take an afternoon off! Thanks Sophie ♥️!
You are most welcome!
You had a fabulous week!
Oh it sounds like you had such a wonderful time! Movies with the ones we love are the best! Blogging breaks are definitely needed from time to time. ♥ And congratulations on the blogging award!
That sounds like a wonderful day. Sometimes it’s nice to take a break from blogging 🙂
So true!
Blog breaks are good. I struggle at the moment to keep up with comments and likes because I’m overwhelmed with the things going on at the moment so i totally get it!
Thank you Astrid! Plus you changed your blog 😉
I love a good blog break as well! I find it so hard to catch up when I do come back, but it is definitely worth it. I had no idea that there is a movie for The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. I am going to have to check it out as well. 🙂
Oh yes please do! If you liked the book you’ll love the movie.
Ohh congrats !!
We all need a break at some point! Happy you enjoyed your read AND got to have an awesome movie night with your daughter 🙂 that’s the most important.
Thank you so much Kristina!!!
Sounds like you had a fun weekend!
I had a week like that, nested with a good book. Thursday past was also a slow, sleepy day. The lupus was acting up and I just had no energy. But part of coping is learning to listen to my body better, so I didn’t fight it.
Oh Julianna I really do hope that your body will cope with it and that you’ll feel less tired and more comfortable. Have a great week!
Thanks!
I’ve been thinking of taking a blogging break. Sometimes it’s hard to keep up with all of this. Have a great week!
Thank you AJ! Have a great week (see, so behind!!!)
WOW, your weeks are just so darn busy. I don’t think I could keep up with you and blog on top of it. I always feel like I am behind now as it is. I hope you have a fantastic week. I so want to read a few of your posts. I am glad they found nothing. THAT is great news and great that you and your daughter had a girls night! Those are so much fun!
Mary
Thank you Mary and yes health is clearly a top priority!

Oh yes Tanya I was stunned really!
Sounds like you had a lovely non-blogging day! Everyone needs a break sometimes 🙂 Glad your blood test results came back good! A Wish for Us has such a pretty cover!

Also, I can’t wait to read your review for The Fragile Ordinary!
Have you read it Kayla? Or plan to maybe?
Blog breaks are good for mental health I think, ha ha. Sometimes you just need to take a day (or more!). Glad your test results were good too– yay!
The Guernsey sounds great, and I always love that English vibe in movies like that. Glad it was good. 🙂
