Hello dear readers,

This Sunday and as it was the last week of January I want to take the time to write some wrap up and link it to Caffeinated Reviewer. I’ve seen this weekly meme called “The Sunday Post” for months now and today I decided to join the fun!

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Big perk: I’ll get to visit other posts and maybe discover new bloggers to follow.

Let’s begin!

About life and blog in general

First I had a fantastic January.

I had two weeks off work so plenty of time to train with Photoshop, read and learn new tricks as a blogger. I went to the movie with a friend and we watched Wonder. I know many of my friends told me to read the book and I didn’t but now I understand why they were so adamant that I just had to read it!!!

Julia Roberts was sensational as always (I love her) and the kid was just so real and right!

Last week was movie with my sixteen year old daughter Julie.

We chose a movie to watch with the men of the family (my husband and son) but they were not interested. So the two girls went to watch The Darkets Hour with Gary Oldman and he was…phenomenal!

There was a moment in the movie where his party urged him to negociate peace with Musolini, Roosevelt let him down, the King did not trust him, 300.000 soldiers would soon be lost and I thought “He has the world on his shoulders. That one man holds the fate of the world in his hands. He is convinced negociating peace with a tyrant is the worse thing to do but he has EVERYONE against him.”

Truly go watch it if you don’t already have.

My reads

I’ve read and reviewed ten books in January. I’m trying to read two books each week so that’s not so bad and I hope I can follow through to the rest of the year.

It’s only half what I read before blogging but that’s because blogging as I’m doing it and as many of you do is much more than reading and writing reviews!

Here are my reads :

My favorite of the months in the books above were:

Ryan’s Bed by Tijan. It’s Young Adult contemporary, so far from what Tija usually writes and deeply emotional with a twist at the end that I never saw coming! REVIEW

Undefeated by Stuart Reardon and Jane Harvey-Berrick. You could say but it’s only a sports romance! Yes and no because Stuart being an ex rugby player his work in the book gave us an incredibly intense story. I’ve been awed truly! REVIEW

Look the Part by Jewel E. Ann. It was my first Jewel E.Ann but won’t be my last! Under the guise of a rom com there is pretty stuff. The characters are just fantastically portrayed. REVIEW

Puddle Jumping by Amber L Johnson was part of my reading challenge of the year. It was a re read and I loved it as muwh as the first time. REVIEW

And then, and then….

The two books of Secondborn by Amy A. Bartol. Traitor Born being an ARC. I’m enamored with this series! If you love dystopian or fantasy or I don’t know what genre this series fit with kickass heroine just read it! REVIEW & REVIEW

I’ve also had the pleasure to interview Stuart Reardon and Jane Harvey Berrick and I had a blast! You can find the interview HERE.

I also looked in the rearview mirror and wrote two posts/discussion about blogging bolder. Because what I never would have imagined is all that I learned and how I changed while blogging for twelve months. I’ve discovered so many things and I’m a changed person too. More confident in my capacity to absorb new technologies, make friends I have never seen but feel close to nevertheless.

This week I’ve also had great pleasure in reading these posts:

And I would like to end this post by a new blog crush.

I discovered Roda just yesterday thanks to Jay’s post as he featured the painting she’s made of his book cover.

I love art in general so of course I had to follow the link to her blog.

I’ve discovered an incredible blog filled with fantastic pictures of nature and small tidbit of wisdom and quiet positivity.

I’m in love with her gorgeous, fantastic, beautiful, colorful, extraordinary….. gallery of nature photography! So a big shoutout for Roda and if like me you love pictures of wild life, flowers, etc. Just visit her blog.

Here is her blog https://growingself.blog/ and her picture “gallery”/blog  https://natureslensbyroda.com/

I know what it takes to take great picture with my bookstagrams as I often take 100 shots to keep only one and my books don’t move! So I’m in awe with her talent.

That’s it for today!

What have you been up to this past month/week? Did you discover new blog worth visiting? Achieved something you ar proud of? Read interesting books? Just let me know in the comments!

Happy Sunday everyone!

Thanks for reading.

Sophie
