Hi dear friends!
Time for a little weekly chit chat about how my week went and what happened on the blog. As usual I will link it up with @CaffeinatedReviewer.
First in my personal life this week
Well this week has been great and exhausting! Exhausting as I worked every day “on site” versus having one day of teleworking *believe me my old bones feel it*. Way to end my holiday week.
I also got a migraine on Friday afternoon * again* till Saturday afternoon. This sucks and should be due to the stress according my doctor. I hope it won’t become a recurring pattern….
It’s been a great week too as my son is flourishing in his new “adventure”. He is passionate about his new studies and has found his calling. It’s so gratifying and heart warming to see him blooming and enthusiastic!
My husband has been ill for most of the week *sore throat, clogged nose* and many colleagues were sick as well. Welcome fall and its viruses.
I am resisting so far thanks to homeopathy!

Today I have been extra lazy as I didn’t blog until now. I just read, took pictures, did some chores…anything but. So now I am speeding like mad to catch up with everything that I have to schedule for today and tomorrow!
This week I read two books but only reviewed one as the other one is due begin 2019 AND I beta read Suanne Laqueur’s next book. So not so bad ….
Yet I made some home teasers for A Curse So Dark and Lonely just to make you want to read it 😀
I wrote what I hope was a funny satire of YA male characters in books and what we expect from them.
As usual I took part in some fun meme and I confess one of them made me sweat!!!
On Tuesday I had much fun imagining my crew of book friends! I ended up with misfits, badasses and witch!
On Thursday Dani made me sweat! It’s really unusual that I have to look for inspiration in a post but imagining a character changing into the opposite sex and what would happen ….hard!
First Impression Friday was all about A Curse So Dark and Lonely
On the blogosphere
Chloe @BookDragons and some other bloggers are organizing a fun event for Halloween and I decided to take part in the level 2! I am so excited!!!
Blogoween here I come!!!
How will it work? You will post Halloween or atleast Autumn themed posts all through October; lists, reviews, discussions, etc. are allowed. To “help” choosing our posts, each week of October will have two Hosts bloggers. They will give out prompts to choose from.
There’s also three different “levels”, which all have a different postings. I chose Level 2 : daily posts from October 24 till 31.
There’s three levels, you can pick ONLY ONE.
Level 1: 13 Days of Blogoween
- Pick any 13 days to post
- Don’t have to be consecutive
- Don’t have to post on Halloween (but you can!)
Level 2: Pumpkins & Spice
- Must post on the 24th Oct through to the 31st Oct (that’s 7 posts)
- Must be consecutive posts
- Must post on Halloween
- Can’t change level
Level 3: Ghosted
- Posting EVERY DAY (that’s 31 posts)
- Can mix Autumn themes into your posts
- If you find within the first few days it’s too much, can switch to Level 1
If you are interested you can fill in this FORM
Now do tell me all about your week!
Thanks for reading.
Have fun Sophie!! Hope you’re headache free this week!
Thanks Trisy me too!
Sounds like you had a super busy week! Sorry about the headache and your hubby being sick!
Good luck with Blogoween. Looking forward to your posts! did you create that graphic for Blogoween or did the creator of Blogoween create it? I LOVE it <3 the cat is sooo cute!
Created the graphic myself Brittany 😉 Thanks for the praise!!!
Lol. My daughter had a gymnastics meet. My two sons had their baseball games. The Dallas Cowboys played the New York Giants. I’m from Dallas, hubby is from New York.
That’s was my whole day.
So nope! No blogging ♀️
Hahahaha Ezichi I feel so much better now LOL
I’ll be honest. I put myself on a netgalley restriction. No more books until reviews outstanding are under 10. I’d prefer 5. But the 12 that I have are making me antsy
Dude, you’ve had a busy week, I have literally been buried under college stress and assignments and projects to even look at my blog lol. It’s just bee sitting there looking pretty hahaha.
Well Ari you have other priorities! We’ll still be there you know 😉
We are getting out flu shots Weds. After last years fail I hope they get it right. The Royals brought us a strain not covered. Hopefully we all stay healthy. Sorry about the migraines.
Fingers crossed for your shots to work Kimberly!
Ugh fall sickness. That’s one thing about fall I do NOT like. And that’s great to hear about your son! How awesome that he’s doing well.
Love that teaser for A Curse So Dark and Lonely! Looks like you had some great posts this past week.
Blogoween looks awesome. 🙂 Have a great week!
Well yes colder weather makes for sick people and it sucks! I am usually blessed with a very strong immune system but still run to the chemist for the family. Greg I am still waiting for a pic of red Sonja LOL
My allergies have been awful lately so I understand the sniffling and such! Hopefully your migraine is gone-those are terrible!
That’s so sad for your allergies Samantha!!! I hope it gets better with winter coming (LOL I sound like a character of GOT).
Blogoween sounds super fun! I am going to check it out. Have a great reading week.
Oh please join us 😉 Thank you!
I haven’t been blogging, either. I watched a movie this afternoon instead of writing reviews. I hope everybody feels better soon. Good luck with Blogoween. Have a great week.
Thank you and you too AJ!
Great wrap-up! I like how you talk about each of your posts, instead of just listing them like I do. I hope your husband feels better soon and you don’t come down with it.
Thank you so much!
it sounds wonderful that your son is thriving on his choice of studies. I had fun reading your posts this week. Still need to check out the teasers you created. And glad to hear you are resisting the fall ickies. I’m doing an October challenge I started last year. I will be sharing reviews and other scary stuff each day for the month. It is taking up a bunch of my time but got at least half of them done.
My Sunday Post
Hahaha Laura I know you like scary books yet also children books. That’s what I like on your blog the diversity of your reads! Have fun with your event 😉
Nice wrap up, Sophie! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on A Curse So Dark and Lonely! I’m pretty excited for that book.
I hope you and your hubby get well soon! :).
Thank you Raven! Review begin January so …wait LOL
That’s so awesome that your son is enjoying his studies. Yeah for him! And I hope your husband keeps his cooties to himself. My dream would be telecommuting one day a week, but it’s not feasible with my job. They actually are making all the telecommuters come in full time now, because too many were taking advantage of the program in different ways. This is why we can’t have nice things. I am eager to read your thoughts on the new Kemmerer. I really liked her last two books.
Well Sam this sucks! Commuting every day is tiring but on the other hand helps me read books! Kemmerer’s review will be posted on January 😉
Wow you had a full week this week, Sophie! 😀 So sorry to hear about your husband but Autumn does bring a lot of illnesses doesn’t it? Ugh. Congrats on your son’s achievements, though! That’s gotta to make momma proud <3 So lovely to see you busy and having fun!
Thank you so much Sophie and yes I was busy LOL
Hope you and hubby feel better soon!
Thank you Jacquie he is better now 😉
Sunday’s are meant for relaxation… Blogging is not always important and we as your FOLLOWERS understand
Thank you Priyasha! 😉
