Hi dear friends!
The lovely and talented Daisy @DGBookBlog nominated me for the Sunshine Blogger Award. For once I am in the “there is no better time than present” and decided to do it righ away!
It seems that this award is given to those who are creative, positive, and inspiring while spreading sunshine to the blogging community, and their thoughtfulness *I quote Daisy* so THANK YOU Daisy I am honored!
So without further ado…
The Rules:
- Thank the person(s) who nominated you in a blog post and link back to their blog.
- Answer the 11 questions sent by the person who nominated you.
- Nominate 5-10 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions (keeping this light honestly!)
- List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo on your post and/or on your blog.
Questions:
What is your all-time favorite romance novel?
This is so difficult to choose!!! But OK I will go with “Me Before You” by Jojo Moyes. It made me laugh, swoon and ungly cry. Just perfect!
Is there a certain book that launched your love of reading? Which book?
I don’t really recall one book but one of my early readings, when I was a teen, was The Clan of the Cave Bear by Jean M Auel. I began this one when I was around 12 and she needed mmore than 20 years to finish the series but what a series!
Have you ever read a book that has actually scared you?
Like Daisy I tend to avoid scary books but one that really had me on the edge of my seat is Nerve Damage by J.L. Myers. It’s a suspense/thriller/horror and is just fantastic! If you are an amateur of the genre I can’t recommend it enough.
What is your favorite book-to-movie adaptation?
So far the Harry Potter series is my favorite. It’s so difficult to find the perfect cas as everyone has his own representation of the characters. It’s also difficult to stay true to the plot etc.
Maybe Wonder too.
And The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.
List your dream cast for your favorite book.
I am very bad at dream cast and will skip this one 😉
What are some of your favorite YouTube channels (if you watch them.)
Like Daisy I don’t watch Youtbe channels.
Name 3 items on your bucket list.
1.Get to live in the US one day (maybe when I’ll be retired) close to either Yellowstone National Park or somewhere in Montana or Colorado.
2.Learn how to be a graphic designer.
3.Work or own a rescue shelter for animals. I love animals and can’t stand the idea that people either abandon them or treat them poorly so I would love giving them all my love and care. Helping them to trust humans again.
What’s the most romantic thing that has ever happened to you?
Well maybe my hubs who told me barely two weeks after we met that he wanted to marry me! I was so shocked and a little bit frightened that I told him to cool down LOL!
Have you ever had a meetcute? What happened?
Never.
What is one of the best blogging tips you’ve ever heard or given?
Be yourself and have fun.
Do it with all your heart, for you. Because you want and like it. Share your passion and find your own voice.
My follower base is growing slowly but honestly what give me so much joy is all the comments and interaction with likeminded and kind people! Better fewer followers but loyal and willing to talk with me than thousands of followers and no interaction. Quality over quantity any day.
Now to have both …. I’d need to stop workin to answer and follow everyone!
Post a picture of your favorite bookish meme.
I nominate any one that hasn’t done it yet or wants to take part!
Thanks for reading!
Ah, animal shelter owner sounds like a cool job. Surrounded by all those cuties! <3
I'd love to visit the US – not sure about living there tho.
Well Norrie we’ll wait some more to live there LOL
Well deserved Sophie! Congrats! <3
Thank you Adrienne! <3
I LOVE that quote. Congratulations on your award:)
Thank you Laura!
Wait out Trump before you move.
Well deserved, Sophie. Congratulations!
Hahaha Astrid exactly what Kim told me today 😉
Great answers! HP is my favorite adaptation too, and I hope you get to live in USA one day!! And daaamn girl the quote is superb!!!
Thank you so much Carolina!
I’ve always been curious about the Clan of the Cave Bear books- seems like they’d be super interesting. I know there was an older movie version, maybe from the 80’s?, but I haven’t seen more than bits of it.
Greg this is just a fantastic and very well documented saga!
Congratulations Sophie! This is well deserved! Just one thing, don’t move to the U.S. until we’ve recovered from Trump. It’s not pretty over her right now.
Hahaha Kim exactly what Astrid told me too. Yes I think it’s wiser to wait 😉
Oooh I love that bookish meme! So true <3 and Colorado is the best state (tho I might be a little biased 😉 )
Hahaha I know that you live in Colorado Brittany! We really loved it there when we visited one year ago!
Damn, you’re fast Sophie- it took me forever to do mine (serious overthinking issues with me)! I enjoyed your answers and thanks for playing along!
Hahaha Daisy with tags or awards it’s usually immediately or months after for me!
