Time is running out.

But they each other’s worst nightmare.

Nova’s double life is about to get a lot more complicated:

As Insomnia, she is a full-fledged member of the Renegades, a syndicate of powerful and beloved superheroes. She works with Adrian’s patrol unit to protect the weak and maintain order in Gatlon City.

As Nightmare, she is an Anarchist – a group of of villains who are determined to destroy the Renegades. Nova wants vengeance against the so-called heroes who once failed her when she needed them most.

But as Nova, her feelings for Adrian are deepening, despite the fact that he is the son of her sworn enemies and, unbeknownst to Nova, he has some dangerous secrets of his own.

In this second installment of the Renegades trilogy, Nova, Adrian, and the rest of their crew – Ruby, Oscar, and Danna — are faced with escalating crime in Gatlon City, while covert weapons and conflicting missions have Nova and Adrian questioning not only their beliefs about justice, but also the feelings they have for each other.

The line between good and evil has been blurred, but what’s clear to them both is that too much power could mean the end of their city – and the world – as they know it.

Global Audiobook Review

Archenemies 5 stars, Supernova 6 stars (the epilogue added one star!)

What a ride!!!

When I read Supernova, I was so anxious and the suspense was so intense, the events so dramatics that I just HAD to DM Caro @cjrtb_books ranting all about that happened (and could not withstand) and all that I feared would happen!

I’d say that when a book gives such extreme emotions, it’s an outstanding success!!!

In Archenemies and then Supernova, we still follow Nova when she is undercover at Renegades quarter, trying to rain havoc and mayhem for the Renegades!

Archenemies will see her in a very, very precarious position and for a very long time, I thought all hope was lost!

Supernova will be even more tense with lots of destruction and action!

You have cackling evil villains (Queen Bee will truly be an evil villain here), crazy evil villains with a god complex, brave heroes ready to sacrifice everything to save the good citizens, a very very torn Nova, not knowing if she was an Anarchist or a Renegades anymore.

You will have shocking revelations about Nova’s past and an even more shocking epilogue (by the way Marissa Meyer, I want a second epilogue with an epiphany and some more goodness to come out of it!).

You will have a luurve story that will be tested! Several love stories in fact because our heroes have cute crushes that alongside the banter, provide a much needed relief to the mounting tension!

Of course we also get a found family/ragtag crew or crews! Because Nova has friends among the Renegades but she also has a family with the Anarchists and the Rejects. So many torn loyalties in fact that I wouldn’t have liked being in Nova’s shoes!

The characters are still their amazing self:

Adrien is that Uber kind, courageous and cute boy who is so easy to fall for. I’d say Nova never stood a chance!

Max is that little boy that you just want to hug extra hard to make up for his life in the quarantine.

Oscar is so funny with his need to always eat and his big crush on Ruby. Determined to woo her but in a very cringy fashion that will have you groan and shout “Nooo”.

Dana or Monarch, brave smart and suspicious that will be in a very tight spot.

Nova who is of course an admirable study in contrats and the perfect character in all shades of grey!

And I could go on and on.

I was late to that series but I am glad as I could binge read it in the scope of two weeks! This was a gripping story, filled with action, suspense, twists, morally grey characters, found family, heroism and … love!

Just… read it!

Also both narrators Rebecca Soler and Dan Brittner were perfect for the story!

Thanks for reading.
