Today is Sunday time to look back in the rearview mirror and talk about my week . I am linking up to the Sunday Post hosted for years by Kimberly@caffeinatedreviewer .
In my private life
Happy Sunday!
I know last week I said I would be able to reply to comments and blog hop but of course my plan derailed because of COVID and more work for the kitchen remodeling!
On Monday, after my son and then my husband being affected by COVID for one week, I finally tested positive. Yet I had no fever, no muscle pain, no sore throat…nothing aside a stuffed or running nose from time to time. No exhaustion either.
And it was lucky because my husband was still feeling very poorly and I had to do nearly everything…
What I noticed too it’s that many people don’t care about COVID anymore!
I had an appointment with the ophtalmologist and he agreed to see me at the end of his day if I wore a mask! Our electrician smirked when I welcomed him with an FFP2 mask after having aired 30 minutes the place where he would work and my hair stylist just laughed when I proposed to postpone our appointment!
So all in all, I could get to every appointment with a mask, except the dentist that had to be postponed of course and my pool session.
I guess that my stress level being a lot lower this year, my immune system ran full force and that’s why I had nearly no symptoms...
Now back to my title!
I live in a Twilight zone since Friday. My kitchen was already bare because of the incoming remodelling but I also had to empty out my dining room! Because the boxes for the new kicthen would be delivered and stored in that adjacent room.
Try emptying two rooms (kitchen and dining room) into your house and to store all the stuff elsewhere… My home looks like an episode of a hoarder show but cleaner.
It’s a nightmare!
Now I know it’s for a better kitchen that will be installed next week but in the meantime, it drives me crazy.
I also don’t have any desk or table available to blog…hence the lack of comments.
I am currently seated in my daughter’s bedroom at her own desk to quickly write this post…
So don’t be surprised if I am not (very) active next week either!
All should be better once I return from London on Monday 18th…
Now as usual, I am leaving you withone reel. I sweated to realize the little trick at the beginning!
On the blog last week (click on the graphic to read the post)
I posted two reviews for two books that made me cry!

Thanks for reading!
Sophie

I guess it was inevitable that you got it with both your son and husband sick. So glad your symptoms were mild! What a total disruption having no kitchen… yikes! I’m sure you can’t wait for the work to be over!
Oh I think it would be rough living without a kitchen! But it’s going to look so great when it’s done!
Oh sorry to hear you got COVID after all, but glad to hear your symptoms were very mild! I can image it’s difficult now with the kitchen remodel going on, but I hope you’ll feel so relieved and happy when it’s done :)
Glad that you had a mild case of Covid. It’s true that they are not too hyper about Covid. I had a cold, but didn’t test, and my dentist said it was up to me if I wanted to keep my appointment. It’s good you were still able to get things done (since you have so much to do), and I hope you have a great trip.
Glad your symptoms are milder this time, Sophie. I laughed at your comment about the kitchen and dining room resembling hoarders, lol. Have a great week!
Cant wait to see your new kitchen!
Bummer about getting Covid, but happy to hear your symptoms were minimal. Having less stress really does help the immune system! I had a Covid shot/booster this year. Hope you get your new kitchen done soon so you can get things back to normal!
Ohno! Sounds horrible indeed, now hopefully the new kitchen arrives in time so things gets sorted soon enough!
Considering how poorly people react to covid.. the measles & the bird flu quickly coming at us is scaring me so much! I’ve been wearing my mask again at work, coworkers asking me why and if im sick all the time irks me ♀️ thanksfully the customers aren’t so bothering. (Except where they think im rude because of the way I speak & they cant see my face.)
Exciting about the new kitchen, even if you have to live in chaos for a short moment.
Most are despondent about COVID where I live too (even when the pandemic hit.) I was lucky to see a handful of people wearing masks. Mainly because people think it’s just like catching a cold – and that’s the symptoms that present the majority of the time. I’m immunocompormised and when I caught it back in 2021, I was hospitalized for 3 months, I lost most of my hair and now have lung scaring and diminished lung capacity. It also took me a good 12 months to recover and could barely walk around the house without dropping from exhaustion. So I take it very seriously. I caught it from a friend who came to my house to visit after she said it wasn’t that serious…
Great to hear you and your family are recovering well. Just think, the next time you post, everyone my be feeling healthy and back on their feet and the kitchen well under way!
What a crazy week you had! I’m glad you didn’t have any Covid symptoms, I didn’t even know that was possible. I’m so excited for your kitchen to be finished
Glad you are feeling ok.
Thank you Kimberly! Me too!
