Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
Today’s theme is: books with high page counts, also know as the doorstopper books.
I don’t mind big books! If they are interesting it’s the more to love.
So here are ten of the thickest (page count) books I have ever read.
The Fall of the Giants by Ken Follet (985 pages), Kingdom of Ashes by Sarah J Maas (984 pages), House of Flames and Shadows by SJM (835 pages), Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare (893 pages), The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett (979 pages)
Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff (739 pages), A Court of Silver Flame by SJM (757 pages), When the Moon Hatched by Sarah Parker (718 pages), The Will of the Many by James Islington (639 pages), Binding 13 by Chloe Walsh (618 pages)

Back in the day I used to tackle 1000+ pages no problem, but now with time becoming more of a limited resource, I find that sticking with more average sized books keeps me more on track! But if I did this list, half of the books on it would probably be Brandon Sanderson Stormlight series books :D

I haven’t read any of these. It would take me two books minimum to hit some of these page counts.
Great list, Sophie! I am a sucker for a Cassie Clare doorstopper, and they read so fast, but somehow I didn’t think of ANY OF THEM while making my own list! I’m a fan of big books, and loved The Will of the Many and SJM.
FYI – Jay Kristoff is a highly problematic author, displaying antisemitism, racism, ableism, anti-Asian racism, and appropriating Maōri culture. Wasn’t sure if you knew this or not.
Cassandra Clare is definitely known for her longer books, so not surprising that you have her on your list.

Same! If a book is keeping me entertained, then I don’t care how long it is. The problem is, most of the chunksters I’ve picked up lately are excessively long for no reason. That drives me crazy and not want to pick up any more of them.

Well that was a big one!
I avoid them like the plague or atleast audio/ebook form so it’s less heavy on the hands..
My longuesr was from lukov with love at 545… i generally rotate between 2-300pages.
I read them in ebook or audio too else they fall on my head when I am reading in bed LOL
I have not read any of these, probably because big books scare me, lol.

The Pillars of the Earth was an immersive read.
And it was my first book in English! I was all “go big or go home” it seems LOL
We have several in common, but I didn’t want to add SJM this week. That was too easy ha!
