Top 10 Book Covers Tag

Some days ago I’ve been tagged by Aneela @themystiquereader to participate in this simple but gorgeous tag.

Thank you Aneela! Readers just go to her blog! If you love beautiful colors and gorgeous graphics you’ll be in heaven. Truly it is a feast for the eye.

It’s no secret that I am a cover junkie!

I’ve already gushed about several covers in the past months but today I’ll introduce new ones as well as my “old” favorites.

I won’t really delve into synopsis but just give a few words about why I love the cover.

Ready?

A Charm of Finches by Suanne Laqueur.

This is one of my 2017 favorites. What I adore are all the watercolored finches on the cover. This is all thanks to Tracy Kopsachilis. The graphic designer is insanely gifted!

Cyanide by Ella Fields

Honestly she has some of the best covers! Cyanide is only one among others. I love the abstract “smoke” in vibrant colors! I haven’t read Cyanide yet but its sequel “Corrode” and the cover is just as fabulous!

A Forest of Thousand Lanterns by Julie C. Dao

I fell in love with the illustrations and the color but what won my admiration are the fonts used on the title! I contacted the cover designer Lindsey Andrews (she has made some fantastic YA covers by the way, go look at her portfolio on Google) and she told me the font used is Yana B. I may buy it one of these days…

And I Darken by Kiersten White

I love the sword cutting through the pale purple flower on a black background. It’s bold, powerful and elegant. Once again the font is fantastic and matches the graphics. It may seems superficial but now that I’m playing with graphics, pictures etc. for some months I came to realize finding the perfect font is sometimes very difficult! Added bonus: this is one of my favorite series and you can find the review on the blog. I have to add that the cover from Now I Rise is just as gorgeous!

Paintbrush by Hannah Bucchin

I fell head over heel for this delicate cover. It’s watercolor, delicate and mimics petals flying on the wind. This was a supercute book that I enjoyed enormously! Review also on the blog.

All In by Emma Scott

I think I may have dozens of pictures with this book. Not only is the story heart stopping and the romance out of the charts but Emma Scott is a truly gorgeous person. She is insanely talented and I’ve loved every stories she wrote so far. I love the colors, the smoke, the … everything featured in that cover. The Dark of the Moon another fantasy book she wrote under the penname ES Bell is also another insta cover love! All reviews on the blog.

First We Were IV by Alexandra Sirowy

I was lucky to get this hardcover courtesy of the author. It looks even better in real life! I love the mystery suggested with the dark colors and the smoke. The story is just fantastic and unique. It’s a mystery/suspense/YA contemporary fiction. I loved Alexandra’s writing and it kept me on my toes. It has a unique vibe from other YA books. Review on the blog too.

Get in the Car Jupiter by Amelie Fisher

I haven’t read the book but Amelie Fisher is another author with fantastic covers. It gives a “pop culture” vibe. Colorful and vibrant. I just want to eat her covers like I would eat sweets.

King’s Cage by Victoria Aveyard

Sorry but I just drool on the covers of this series! The first book was excellent, the second one had me thinking “WTH????” all raging against the author, the third reconciled me with the story even if now I don’t know what I should wish for Mare. The fourth… can’t come soon enough and is on my most awaited books of 2018 list. I love the delicate crown so girly and contrasting with the dripping blood. All against a blue background. Simple, elegant, lethal! Review on the blog.

Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh

I love, love, love that cover and I can’t wait to read it! It’s one of my “good resolutions ” for 2018: read this book. The orange/golden colors of the phoenix contrast against the black background. This is completed with lovely purple flowers. If the writing is as good as The Wrath and the Dawn series I already know that I will gobble it up!

Are you a book cover addict? If you are and haven’t done this tag you are welcome to participate.
