Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme created by Shanah @BionicBookWorm that lead us to explore different topics. Don’t be shy and come play with us!

This week will be a hard one too. Not because I don’t have any idea about my favorite book quotes but because I have too many! I won’t comment as I want you to experience them and let it sink in LOL

OK let’s see if I’ll keep it to 5 … or not.

“Everybody is a main character to someone…”
Amy Harmon, Making Faces

“Try to believe that maybe more light shines out of those who have the most cracks.”
Mia Sheridan, Archer’s Voice

“They can take our homes, our possessions. Our families. Our lives. They can drive us out, like they’ve driven us out before. They can humiliate us and dehumanize us. But they cannot take our thoughts. They cannot take our talents. They cannot take our knowledge, or our memories, or our minds. In music there is no bondage. Music is a door, and the soul escapes through the melody.”
Amy Harmon, From Sand and Ash

A person who never truly lost themselves could never truly find themselves, either.”
Brittainy C. Cherry, Art & Soul

“But you don’t always get what you want. Sometimes you get exactly what you need.”
Leylah Attar, Mists of the Serengeti

“All humans make mistakes. What determines a person’s character aren’t the mistakes we make. It’s how we take those mistakes and turn them into lessons rather than excuses.”
Colleen Hoover, It Ends with Us

And you could you share some of your favorite quotes?

Thanks for reading!

  1. Hello Sophie!
Love this list of quotes! Your first quote reminds me of another quote that someone else said, “You are the main character in your own story.” This is one of my favourite quotes, because I think sometimes we let ourselves fade into the supporting cast, and although I think it is good to be considerate and selfless at times, I believe that we should take care of ourselves most of all and remember that we are our own main character 🙂

    1. Hi Sophie

This is so true. Sometimes we don’t dare enough and do enough just for us as we often help and support others. My US friends helped me to be bolder and dare telling I’m here and I do things I’m proud of. Us European are usually more introvert and in the background. So a dosis of US was a really good thing LOL

      1. Haha yes I do hear that about Europeans vs Americans. I am Canadian- not sure about where we lie on the spectrum but maybe somewhere in between? In my interactions with Americans, they do tend to be straightforward and assertive. Canadians can be indirect in order to be nice and polite but I think it is counter-productive at times haha :’) We apologize about EVERYTHING (which sometimes becomes annoying lol!)

          1. Aww I am so glad to hear that :’) We love the Brits as well. I’ve confirmed with my friends that ANYTHING spoken in a British accent automatically sounds intelligent haha! 🙂

    1. Thank you Wendy and yes I obviously loved this one. I think people who went through hell and back are often the kindest and most beautiful. Cracks and all.

    1. Amy I seriously wanted to quote so many more from you! But I had room only for 5 and I cheated to put 6 LOL
