In my private life

Happy Sunday!

Well last week I took a week off blogging without having planned for it! I posted my Top Ten Tuesday but no review, nothing!

First because I had no review to post.

Second because I was so tired that I had no energy to write said reviews! It also didn’t help that I had to work on Wednesday, my usual off work day. Nor that I am busy listening to a big book that has 29 hours in audio πŸ˜‰

The new job is asking me to go more often to work and I am not used to waking up at 5 AM several times a week! When I get back home in winter’s pitch black, I have no energy for blogging left.

I guess it will get better with longer days and I just have to be patient… So I am sorry if I am not replying or blog hopping before the weekend!

But I did discover a new hobby on top of painting book edges I am now trying real watercolor. And by “real” I mean on watercolor paper instead of books!

Here below are my first attempts.. and I need a better light to take pictures!

I also made some funny reels and a “painting book edges” one!

This one is about all the ways to get a book box “bookish style”.

And that’s it for this week! Don’t worry, I already have two reveiws planned for nex week! Pfew!

Thanks for reading.

  1. When I worked full-time, I often had a hard time keeping up with blogging too. Like you said, I was just too tired or worn out mentally to do it. I hope you get used to your new hours and that the longer days help with your motivation and energy. πŸ˜€

  2. It’s hard adjusting to a new job. Hope you settle in and get some rest. You’re so talented with your art!

  3. Sorry to hear that the new job and its demands are such a big adjustment, Sophie. Hopefully a new routine will develop soon and feel normal again. The watercolors are gorgeous! You are so talented.

  4. Yeah winter is so ROUGH!!! I hate it because of the lack of sun we have. I will never understand keeping clocks the way that we do, I would rather have a bit more sunlight in the winter time than having the sun out till 10 at night in the summer lol I have really started to feel it this year and its been rough too.

I am so glad that you have found a niche in painting book edges. I wish I could do stuff like that but there is a reason I do coloring books, I can’t draw worth anything lol

Hope you have a better week and that you adjust to the long work days! Maybe have an apple or something. That really helps my energy in the morning especially. Its better than coffee.

  5. I’m so sorry work has been tough. I get up at 5 am daily and it is ROUGH. I can’t imagine how difficult it is for those who aren’t used to it! Lovely painting! You are such a talented artist.

  6. Your artwork is beautiful, Sophie. Balancing blogging and work can be a challenge. I don’t subscribe to a book box currently. I did for a little while a few years ago, but it’s no longer offered. I love the edges you painted on Heather Fawcett’s book. I hope to read the second book soon. I hope you have a great week!

  7. Sounds like the new job is keeping you busy, I’m sure you’ll get into a routine soon. The watercolors are lovely! Especially the carp. Have a good week!
