Today will be a mish mash of little news I fear!
First I have been watching some competitions in the winter olympics, especially figure skating!
I love figure skating but boy did this year bring some surprises!
I had loved the performance of Adam Siao Him Fa (France) in the men short program (he made me feel) and had been impressed by Ilia Malinin (USA) in the same program and then they both failed spectacularly in the last competition! I was so sorry for them as they prepared for years and then, poof!
You really have to be strong to compete at that level!
The second small news is that after cancelling my Illumicrate subscription (I didn’t like their book selection these last months) I cancelled my Fairyloot combo subscription too! I had the YA, adult and romantasy books but I read maybe 20% of them. It hurt! Because their customization is absolutely gorgeous but I also was fed up unhauling books I hadn’t read.
I am now on their romantasy waitlist and I suspect I will stay on said waitlist for years but oh well…
I know I will have FOMO though.
And last news: we had the second puppy training session. We switched puppies and the girl also refused to walk with me! She was perfect to sit and come when called but walking…nothing!

Last week I was lazy and posted only one review but I also reused some Instagram content to give recommendations about fantasy books that are less than 700 pages!

Subscription boxes have always tempted me because their editions are always so special and gorgeous. But when it comes down to it, I realized not all of their selections work for me and I end up not wanting to or more likely not being able to read them because they start piling up. You made the right decision in the end, if you end up unhauling more than reading them!
The figure skating is my favourite, Ilia Malinin‘s crash out was such a shock because he is such an incredible skater, but so young too it’s not surprising the pressure got to him.
Sounds like your girl puppy has some attitude.

I haven’t watched any of the Olympics this year, and I can’t really say why because I always enjoyed the figure skating. It’s been a busy few weeks, I guess. Hope you make the romantasy list soon!

Both dance and men’s figure skating was so dramatic! I feel so bad for Ilia, it was shocking seeing him miss that quad axel. Oh well! I hope you have a good week

I recently canceled my subscription of the romantasy box. I was sad to do it but I could use the extra money I save on it. Everything is getting so expensive. Even my dog groomer went up €5 in price recently.

I am very cheap, but I think you made the right decision with those subscription boxes. It’s nice for your book collection, but if you don’t read the books, it seems pointless to me. Your little girl dog is headstrong, huh?

I have the Adult Fairyloot box, but if I ever get off the waitlist for the romantasy, I will cancel that one. I don’t tend to read many of the books, but they are just so pretty…
The men’s free stake was brutal! So many falls. I read that the day before the ice had been hardened for speed skating, so it could have been an issue with the actual ice not being the right consistency for skating.
Maybe it was the ice Samantha…
I also have enjoyed some figure skating. I still want to watch some of the other sports too. Puppies require patience I fear. That’s why we adopt older dogs.

I need to go find some of the figure skating to watch. I just haven’t had time to watch, although my mom was watching the curling last time I was at her house. I had to cancel my Book of the Month subscription because most of the books I bought sat on my TBR shelf and I hadn’t read them, lol. So I understand why you had to cancel as well.
