Today is Sunday time to look back in the rearview mirror and talk about my week . I am linking up to the Sunday Post hosted for years by Kimberly@caffeinatedreviewer .
In my private life
Happy Sunday!
This week was a short workweek and I was so in need of some days off!
It began with a rush of stress as on Tuesday morning, when I was meant to train people in another part of Belgium in the afternoon, I got a call before breakfast telling me the training happened…in the morning!
So off I went in a rush to be on time! I was not the only one who got the hours mixed as other people came in late, so I felt a little less guilty 😉
Next week I have to give two more trainings, maybe a third in Dutch if my colleague can’t make it. We’ll see…
We finally booked our holiday with my husband! I had everything ready to go to Cornwall but when my husband saw the cost (because of course, booking late means you don’t have a lot of choice in accomodations), we decided to go to France, between Normandy and Brittain for half the price!
Well France is beautiful too and what’s important is escaping the routine and have some time together.
A quick word about the art classes I’ll teach in two weeks, teaching how to paint book edges. They are fast becoming a reality!
I had asked to stop at 10 people for me to be able to coach properly but we have…11 participants!!! I was so surprised that so many people in my relatively small town were interested!
Now I “just” have to make it happen and allow people to have a great time.
I have been researching this weekend, experimenting with different techniques and…making mistakes so that I’ll be able to tell them what to do and what to avoid doing!
If you are curious, I’ll leave here two reels of me making said edges this week! Enjoy!

Well I was so caught up in making art and all that I didn’t blog a lot! I just posted one review but …what a book!!!!
Thanks for reading!
Sophie

I hope the trainings this week went well! This week seems a bit off for me, like it should be the weekend already since I took some time off the middle of the week, but I have to go back to work tomorrow. At least it will seem like short week then. Haha
A trip to France sounds nice! I hope you have a great time. My husband and I want to make a short getaway for our 25th wedding anniversary this summer, but we are having trouble deciding what to do.
I love that your art class has so much interest! I hope it goes well.
Have a great week!
It seems that deciding where to go and what to do is not unusual LOL
Congrats on already having 11 participants to your class, Sophie! I’m sure everything will work out fine, your painted edges always look gorgeous so all participants will be happy to learn from you.
Yay for booking your vacations! So true that where it is does not matter as much as just having some time off and spending time together 🙂
Thank you for your faith in me Lindsey 😉
Yay for booking a holiday! When are you going? I hope you have a great time.
At the end of July! My adult kids will enjoy staying alone in the house LOL
Have and great week.
Thank you!!
Enjoy your vacation, and good luck with the classes! You’re very talented. I know your students will love the experience. 🙂
I hope so! Thank you for your faith in me AJ!
Hooray for getting your holiday booked! A getaway to France sounds positively dreamy. Sounds like your art skills are in high demand and the class is more than filled.
It is Tanya!
You’re absolutely right about escaping routine for a while, Sophie. Our vacation is also booked for next month. Hope you have a fabulous time!
And I hope you’ll have a fabulous time as well Teri!
You’re so right, escaping routine and having some time together is the most important thing about getting away. Looking forward to some photos of your vacation! I love France but haven’t been to the areas you’re visiting.
Oh I’ll certainly will post pictures!
Your painted edges are so beautiful! I’m glad you will get a chance to getaway and relax!
Me too Anne!
France sounds wonderful!
I’m so glad you liked 4th wing! That’s great! And yay for France! Have a wonderful week!
Thank you Samantha!
Now you have something wonderful to look forward too. I have only been to Paris and would love to see more of France. I am sure it will be a good time
I am sure it will Sam!
Holidays are so expensive aren’t they! So exciting about your edges painting class – can’t wait to hear how it went!
I’ll tell you all about it Caro!
i don’t travel, but if you got a VPN you can bypass extra costs by logging to the country you’re travelling to :0) which can be nice (also unlock region specific netflix)
Ah thats so cool!! I hope your art class goes super well xx
And ofcourse have a good vacation with your hubby!
I have a VPN too but that does not help with the extra costs unfortunately. I wish!
What a great idea for a class!!
Thank you!
I listened to Fourth Wing and loved it. You did a fantastic job. Dang, I pre-ordered BloodGuard with the edges as soon as it went up for pre-order. I hope it comes with edges. Now I am nervous…lol
I think as you live in the US it will come with the edges Kimberly. I am under the impression that amazon.com orders have them while the other amazons…don’t!
I’m hearing so many good things about The Fourth Wing! I kept a bunch of the books we discarded from my school library that have the old fashioned kind of hardback covers, ones that were books that were probably paperback but they made them hardbacks. I feel like I’ve got to figure some kind of craft to do with all the fun covers. My trip to Scotland is coming up soon. It’s expensive, but it might be my only trip out of the country at my current age, so I’m going to splurge. Hope you have a good week!

I hope you’ll try some craft with these discarded books as it’s so fun!
How exciting that you’ve got your holiday booked – and you’re right. Cornwall is beautiful, but so is Normandy and Brittany. I’m delighted you loved the audiobook of Fourth Wing so much, because I’ve treated myself to a copy:)). Have a great week, Sophie.
I really hope you love Fourth Wing!!!
Love what you did with the stenciled edges on Fourth Wing, its beautiful!
Yay for a vacay in France! I agree its beautiful. When we went we didn’t get to see as much as we wanted to. I would love to do an extended stay in the countryside.
Hope you have a wonderful week darling!
It’s always hard to choose what to visit Renee!
That’s exciting about your painting class. And I love what you did with the Fourth Wing edges, beautiful!
Thank you Tammy!
It’s great that so many people were interested in your class. I hope it goes well.
Me too!
