Today is Sunday time to look back in the rearview mirror and talk about my week . I am linking up to the Sunday Post hosted for years by Kimberly@caffeinatedreviewer .Â
In my private life
Happy Sunday,
No Sunday Post last week as I was too exhausted.
I have a headache today but if I don’t post maybe it will be the beginning of a break that could become permanent and I am not ready to say goodbye to blogging yet.
Since the last Sunday post where I told you about the death of my dog, I have been grieving her absence in my own way: with art.
I realized that when I was drawing her, it was like letting her go peacefully, so that’s what I did: drew her.
Here are some of my creations from puppy to adolsecent.

I have always loved drawing animals and drawing her gave me comfort.
We are waiting for the vet to come back from holiday and give us her ashes that we will sprinkle on a newly planted tree in the garden.
What else to say…
I will try to go to an art academy this year, three hours a week, and see if it helps with my drawing and painting.
And I am befriending a neighbor’s cat who is always lurking in our garden. She is a little grey and white female. She lets me pet her but not my son nor husband.
I guess she feels that there is a hole in my life and is willing to give me some love.
Oh also this week I learned that Belgium and Europe and many other countries in the world are suspending the delivery of small parcels to the US because of the tariff war the president is leading on the rest of the world. According to someone at the post office, even letters won’t be sent anymore from Belgium to the US!!! That’s absolutely crazy.
Imagine that like my daughter you are studying for some months in the US but you have problems and need some papers or a new credit card to be sent to your by your parents. Well that became impossible!
The stress I would have experienced!
To bring you something lighter, here is a reel where I fail miserably at being a big influencer LOL

August hasn’t been a great reading month. More of a mixed bag where I only got one five star reads lats week (review not published yet).
I will never believe the TikTok sensation anymore!

Luckily, this book was recommended by Sam (a fellow book blogger) and it was just what I needed!

That’s it for this week!
Sophie

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved pup. It is never easy to say good bye to our pets, but your art is a lovely tribute and I am happy to hear it brings you peace.
Thank you so much Mogsy!
I’m so sorry for your loss Sophie! I do love the drawings and I’m glad they helped you a little bit in coping with the grief <3
Thank you Lindsey
I love the drawings, and im glad they helped a little with the grief of losing your dog. That’s awful about the mail service! But I am not surprised with anything that happens due to this president
Thank you. And I dreamt of living in the US but not right now…
Oh gosh, I am so sorry for your loss!! Sending love your way!!
Thank you Susy!
I’m happy you found an outlet to grieve in peace ❤️ mine had been talking & writing about it.
It’s a sound therapy Kristina!
yes I am so sorry about our horrible government. I love your drawings and glad it gave you comfort.
Anne – Books of My Heart
Thank you Anne.
I’m glad drawing gave you some peace! Losing a pet is so difficult.
I heard recently that even Australia is stopping postage to the US. Its a dumpster fire here. We need another country to come in and take over. Like a foster parent-an adult to be in charge until we are of age because we clearly need guidance.
Bwahahaha I love your read of the situation Samantha!
It’s heartbreaking to lose a beloved animal. Our cats our like our family members and I dread losing them. I’m so sorry for your loss, Sophie! Your drawings of your precious pup are beautiful and such a lovely way to remember! Nothing surprises me with this awful president. :( I’m happy you posted. I would hate to see you leave the blogging community!
Aww thank you Rachel!
Sending hugs to you Sophie xx
Thank you Caro!
Such a lovely way to honor your pup. Very sweet pictures.
Thank you Sam!
I’m so sorry for the loss of your dog. I hope you are doing better.

I’m so behind on reading reviews! Hope to get to some of yours soon. I have a friend who has her daughter that lives in Belgium and she now I guess won’t be able to contact her by mail? That is horrible! I’m so tired of all this tariff and ridiculousness going on. I love your art, and I think an art class sounds like a great way to spend time. Loss of our dogs/pets is so tough, so I get that too. I think it’s a great way to do the drawings like you are. I hope you have a better week!

Sending hugs – I recall my utter devastation when we lost Diesel, our staffie. He was the most affectionate dog and we loved him dearly. I love your video:)). And also thoroughly agree with your shoutout for The Will of the Many – it blew me away! I hope the coming week is a kinder one, Sophie.
