Today is Sunday time to look back in the rearview mirror and talk about my week . I am linking up to the Sunday Post hosted for years by Kimberly@caffeinatedreviewer .

In my private life

This week was the last of my holiday and I am in no hurry to get back to work tomorrow!

But I need to earn money to buy all the books and book merch I suppose 😀

This week I went for a long walk with my son. He had new hiking shoes and wanted to test them. We walked in the woods and he jumped in all the puddles to see if they were water resistant, happily trotting in the mud!

He may be 22 he reminded me of the five year old kid who took great delight in coming back home the muddiest possible.

We had sun which was a kind of miracle as Belgium has a rotten summer with rain all the time!

Needless to say that with so much rain for two months now, my garden was in dire need to be cleaned.

That’s why when we had one afternoon without rain I worked for five hours straight taking out the weeds and pulling hard to unroot the ivy coming from my neighbor’s garden.

Result: I am back with tinging in my arms and hands at night and in the morning! It’s really unnerving as I lose some sensitivity in my hands for some minutes.

My body is telling me that I am old(er) and that I must…rest. Sigh!

I also took the time to make another funny reel on Instagram and, miracle, my dog played along!

I also did a live chat with a Canadian bookstagrammer about Dark Romance!!! This is always a bit daunting as English is not my mother language but I think it went well and we had a great time!

I reviewed two books this week but read two more (see below)

The other two books that I read are:

Fable of Happiness by Pepper Winters (I gave it 2 stars as it was too extreme for me);

Flash Fire by TJ Klune, the sequel of the Extraordinaries and I gave it 4,5 stars.

Thanks for reading!

Sophie

  1. I love it when grown ups act like kids sometimes! I think its really good for the psyche! We finally got a bit of rain today. Not enough because it hasn’t rained in over 2 weeks.
    Have a great week!

  2. Sometimes when I look at my youngest son I also see a mischevious little boy, Sophie, lol. Wish you could send us your rain – it’s been weeks since we’ve had any and our lawn is now brown and crunchy!

  3. aww….your son is adorable. I love that our souls just remain so young at times. And we can enjoy the simple things in life. And wouldn’t it be nice if our bodies didn’t age? haha

  4. Nice that you spent time to get your garden back into shape. I need to spend some time weeding my garden, but it’s just been too hot! I loved Archer’s Voice, too! Have a lovely week, Sophie.

  5. Ohno- that’s quite some work indeed ;-; all fun and games until you need to clean them rofl ahah

Aww I do the same! I love to walk in random little trails in the woods, jumping over root and everything.. I feel like a kid again!

Hoping your return to work will go well,
    Have a good week! Xx
