When life is busy but you are not ready to stop blogging…

Today is Sunday time to look back in the rearview mirror and talk about my week . I am linking up to the Sunday Post hosted for years by Kimberly@caffeinatedreviewer .

In my private life

Happy Sunday!

As my title suggests, my week (and the week before and the week before and…) has been extremely busy with work!

Working till 7 PM nearly every day with no downtime to blog hop or go on social media on my breaks.

That means that blogging is suffering.

I don’t have the energy to blog hop or reply to comments once I log off my work computer. I can barely schedule some posts on the weekend as my weekend too are busy prepping for the future kitchen change: cleaning, sorting, going to buy tools..

And yesterday morning was spent driving to a burial more than one hour away from home.

I won’t lie: I thought about stopping with the blog altogether.

But then… I still love talking about books. I still love reading posts about books and challenges and new release in the few time that I can manage.

And I have worked so hard to make that blog what it is now after soon eight years of blogging that I am not ready to throw the towel.

So I guess I will do what I can.

I will schedule posts and I will reply to comments and visit blogs on the weekend.

I am deelply sorry that I can’t do better right now but I don’t want to implode or burn out…

That was my week, with still thinking about everything to do for my daughter’s trip…

How was your week?

As usual I will leave you with some reels…

This one is meeting other people’s expectations LOL

And this one is a blind date with a book! Homestly if you want to order a mysterious books from that company, fear not, they ask for your Goodreads profile to avoid sending you a book you already own or something that wouldn’t be to your taste.

Last week on the blog (click on the graphic to read the post)

I have been lucky to have read two very good books, even if they were very different from each other!

The God of the Woods was a mystery/family drama.

And Sorcery and Small Magics was a queer fantasy that I devoured in a few days!

Thanks for reading!

Sophie

  1. This isn’t a job, it’s a hobby. Do what you can, when you can, and it will be enough. You can’t pour from an empty cup so relax and do whatever you need to do. People will still be around and supportive… Trust me, I’ve posted about 20 times to my blog in about 2 years but the bookish friends remain! ;)

  2. I totally understand, Sophie! I’ve been “on hiatus” for two months now and I still don’t feel ready to return. Blogging was becoming a chore and I decided to take a break before it started to no longer be fun. I hope things settle down for you soon!

  3. Hey Sophie, I don’t know if you still remember me, but I still religiously read all of your posts. I absolutely understand where you are coming from. I was in the same place back in 2021. I honestly tried hard to come back but couldn’t juggle blogging with work. I even actually fell out of reading in the middle, before I started to get back on track this year. Anyhow, please do whatever feels the best for you. Your happiness and health matters the most! Much love.

    1. Hi Poulami! Of course I remember you! I am glad to know that you managed to read again. Maybe you will come back to blogging in some future time when things get easier. And if not, it’s not a problem. The most important is doing indeed what’s best for our mental health. Hugs!
