Today is Sunday time to look back in the rearview mirror and talk about my week . I am linking up to the Sunday Post hosted for years by Kimberly@caffeinatedreviewer .

In my private life

It was my last week off work.

Today is back to business but in the meantime, my second COVID test (PCR) came back negative (yay!).

On Thursday, I went to a photo exhibition with a friend in another city.

It was the best press photo in the world. But I ended up walking a lot and climbing huge steps (for little me). By the end of the day, my hip hurt and my lower back as well.

The day after, I decided to rest but since it has not improved much!

I think I must have an inflammation and probably something “misplaced” in my lower back. It’s been rest again today and it’s driving me nuts!!!

I am not used to stay indoor and not walk or swim or … it’s a kind of torture for me!

I will visit my osteopath tomorrow and I hope he’ll be able to fix this for my husband’s sake!

Because contrary to popular belief, the one complaining when sick in our house is me and not my husband 🙂

After talking to my mom, it seems she is just like me while my dad was stoic!

Random question here: have you voted on the Goodreads award and what do you think of them?

I was surprised that Empire of the Vampire and other books were absent on the list! Going bby their criteria of number of reviews and medium rating it should have been there!

Another random rambling here: I entered rep searches for big box companies on Instagram. I was not selected (there are tons of other talented bookstagrammers out there). When I asked some feedback, to see what I could improve or if I just was losing my time entering their search, one answered me “We have lots of entries, try again.” (Not very specific nor helpful) and the second…didn’t bother answering!

Is it weird that I am asking some feedback to improve?? Like a job application??

Now, talking about my mom, here is a new reels to make you laugh.

On the blog this week (click on the graphic to read the post)

I reviewed three books, two of them being mini reviews. One was a disappointing debut.

  1. I am thrilled that your Covid test came back negative:)). As for your back pain – you have my huge sympathy as I have a lower back weakness and it is absolutely miserable. If it is a recurring problem, have you considered using a TENS machine? It doesn’t suit everyone, but I swear by mine and it cut down my visits to the physio to the extent that it had paid for itself by the end of the first month. I hope it soon feels better, Sophie:).

  2. Yay for being Covid free! I thought the Goodreads choices were a little better than usual but still felt like a lot of wonderful titles were left out. Empire of the Vampire was definitely one I was expecting to see and was surprised when I couldn’t find it anywhere.

  3. So glad you’re Covid free and I feel your back pain…literally! I have arthritis in my hip and when it flairs up it’s agony. You don’t realize how important your back is until it’s inflamed! I hope you feel better soon..also, for what it’s worth, I adore your bookstagram, you’re so talented!! Keep it up girl!

  4. I’m so sorry you are feeling pain. I had something similar at the beginning of the year. I shut down pretty completely because of the pain but eventually the physical therapist said movement is best. Of course, not wild movement or strenuous. I’m so glad you also loved the Love Hypothesis; it was really a favorite for me.

  5. I’m reading Empire of the Vampire right now and I’m more than surprised (negatively so) that it did not made GR’s lists, but I’ve stopped trying to make head or tails of their methods a long time ago…
Hope your back improves soon and you can go back to your beloved activities! 🙂

  6. Goodreads Awards, for lack of a better term, are really popularity contests so I have no doubt that some of the books you listed that are conspicuously missing will probably end up on the final list when enough people nominate them, At least that’s what I’ve seen happening in prior years!

  7. Yay for the negative Covid test. I hope your back feels better soon- that’s not good.

I haven’t checked out the Goodreads awards yet. I usually vote but haven’t this year yet…

Thanks for your comment on my blog too. I know Covid is a touchy subject for some and I hate to bring it up sometmes but I got so many good comments.

  8. I hope your back feels better soon, and yay for a negative test. I’m sorry about the rep searches. I imagine they get so many messages they probably can’t reply to everyone individually. But you did the right thing, I would have asked too

  9. I am always underwhelmed by the Goodreads Awards. It makes me feel like there is a very different goodreads out there that I am somehow missing. Or, that the trolls who fake review books are winning. Either way, underwhelming.

  10. I am glad that your test came back negative. I think depending on the genre, the Goodreads Choice Awards will work for some but won’t work for others just because of the way that they gather the numbers on these books. I was pretty disappointed but not surprised by the titles in the awards.

  11. I am sorry for the back!! But at least the teste is negative, yay!!
And I think it is pretty serious on your part to ask for feedback!! It would be awesome if they would answer you seriously too!!

  12. That’s great news about the negative test, but the bad back? Ih dear, Sophie, ai know how painful and annoying having a bad back can be. Just take good care of yourself, and get plenty of rest. Let’s hope your specialist can help.
