Today is Sunday time to look back in the rearview mirror and talk about my week . I am linking up to the Sunday Post hosted for years by Kimberly@caffeinatedreviewer .
In my private life
Happy Sunday!
Things seem to settle down a little at work but we’ll see in the coming weeks how everything turns out!
The most exciting event this week if you could call that is probably when wild boars came two days in a row to plow my mom’s garden!
She surprised them as a young one could not come out of the garden and she had to shoo him away! I think when she explaind that on the phone I had a mini attack!
“Mom, when there is a baby boar stuck and the parents just a mere feet away, you DON’T COME OUT!”
Honestly she gives me such fright sometime!
As they came back the day after, we are now looking for repellents for boars.
The homemade ones seem to involve crushes garlic, lemon oil etc.
We are hopefully closer now to our vacation plans! My husband agreed to go to Cornwall BUT he now has to give me a date (hopefully by the end of next week) and go ask for a passport. Baby steps here LOL
As usual, I am sharing some reel with you.
The first one is me hopping on a trend and making it less sexy and more funny (at nearly 53, I can’t play the sexy card as well anymore so let’s just settle for laughter right? ).
And this is my second “guess the book based on the opening”. Did you guess?
On the blog this week (click on the graphic to read the post)
I posted three reviews this week for three books I really loved!
City of Nightmares made me think of Lashaan and his love for all things Marvel and Batman 😉
And Maame was packed with deep emotions!
Thanks for reading!
Sophie

Wow, boars, that would be a little scary though, glad your mom is okay!
Yay for vacation plans coming together, that’s always nice and baby steps are okay as long as it’s something to look forward to 😀
Exactly!!
I never thought I’d read about wild boars in anyone’s garden today hahah Hope she’s ok! 😀
She is ok thank you!
Wild boars in one’s garden is not a sight one witnesses every day!
Luckily Maddalena!
Wow, it’s always cool to see wild life in the garden! But you are so right, boars are no joke! Can be very dangerous especially when the mamas are protecting their babies!
That’s what I tried to explain to my mom!
I am so thrilled that you loved that Carissa Broadbent, I do need to start her stuff and soon! I hear her stuff is great fantasy romance!
oh no Boars!! Your mama is crazy haha Hopefully they don’t return though
Hope you have a wonderful week!
Thank you Renee!
Wow, that’s crazy about the wild boars! Hope the homemade remedies will keep them away. Baby steps with the vacation planning… hopefully the turnaround time for the passport is not too long.
Fingers crossed!
Wild boars! That’s crazy. I hope your week is a good one!
Thank you Tammy!
Wild boars in the garden – can’t say I’ve heard of that before, lol. I adore the trend video, Sophie – not sure how I missed it on Insta!
Thank you Teri!
You have wild boars there! Wow, that’s a surprise. Glad your mom wasn’t hurt. You’re still sexy at 53, Sophie! We’re the same age so I’m going to say you’re only as old as you feel and you look good! 🙂
Then I’ll always be 16 Rachel LOL
I’m glad you are reading some 5 star books. Have fun planning the vacation!
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Thank you Anne!
I can’t imagine garlic being a repellent. It’s so delicious. But, wow! Wild boars. We don’t get those in these parts. We had way more exciting nature encounters when I lived in Florida. When I saw that reel of you your dog, I flipped. I saw it on IG and though it was the original. I squealed with joy when I saw you at the end. Fantastic!
Thank you Sam!!
A baby boar, bet that was so cute though! Have a lovely week Sophie!
Yes it’s cute but don’t touch LOL
A wild boar!?! Your mom is going to give you a heart attack! Hopefully it is not too difficult to get a passport. In the states, they are way behind and it is taking forever to process.
I know Samantha she is so reckless sometimes LOL
Love that first reel. 🙂
Yay for Cornwall. And BOARS?
Yes boars! 😉
Your interpretation of the trend made me laugh 🙂
Wishing you a great reading week
Thank you Shelleyrae!
Oh my goodness! No, no, no – parent boars are known to be super protective of their young. We have issues with young seagulls getting trapped on our lawn – luckily the parents now know that Himself is going to herd the fledglings out of the gate and don’t mob him anymore. But it was tricky the first couple of years… I LOVE your kick-the-slipper transformation – hilarious! Thank you for sharing, Sophie and have a great week.
Thank you! Have a great week too! And it’s funny: we have boars you have seaguls LOL
