Today is Sunday time to look back in the rearview mirror and talk about my week . I am linking up to the Sunday Post hosted for years by Kimberly@caffeinatedreviewer .Â
In my private life
Happy Sunday!
Last Sunday saw no Sunday Post as I was in London, attending YALC (Young Adult Litterature Convention)!
I had a blast!
Our travel was … surprising as we took the train and once in the Pas de Calais, my phone began vibrating and doing a noise it had never done! I thought it would explode! But it was just the alert for the floods in France…
This time we rented a flat and I was very happy with it! No bed bugs as my daughter feared (we checked upon arrival) and everything was very clean!
YALC was amazing with lots of authors met and even a workshop organized by Fairyloot and Zoulfa Kathou around our favorite and less favorite tropes.
I also met lots of followers or bookstagrammers who recognized me and asked for selfies or hugs!
We bought 20 books total with my daughter for about 86 EUR so basically, they were free 😉
Our travel back was also stressful as we had walked to the underground station, under the rain, at a brisk walk to discover said station closed because the were understaffed! We dashed to the next station, still under the rain and carrying suitcases heavy with books to discover once inside the station that it would close in moments! So we flew down the stairs, hauling our luggage and dashed into the train that just arrived at the gate! What a way to begin our day!
Today is my last day of holiday and I took the time to prepare for my “Best Reads of 2023”, also known as Blogmas.
As I am still tired with daylight saving and know that my month will be busy, I opted for a lighter formula this year.
I will post once a week, every Friday, beginning on December 1st.
You can find the schedule and themes below if you want to participate.
If you participate, could you comment on my post of the day and leave a link to your post? That will be easier for me to go and visit!

And as usual, I am leaving you with my most recent reel.
On the blog since last Sunday Post (click on the graphic to read the post)
I reviewed four books and one of them made me rage and shed all the tears!
I was so lucky to get an advanced reading copy of Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherland!
A Curse for True Love was a worthy ending to that trilogy, even if the first book remains my favorite!
And I think that Sword Catcher is an excellent setting of the scene for that new series!
Thanks for reading! Now I’ll go catch up with your posts and comments!
Sophie

Twenty books – nice! Sounds like you had a great time with the exception of the travel issues.
I did Teri!
Glad you had a great time at YALC, except for the travel issues! I’m definitely looking forward to your blogmas posts! (how are we that time of the year already?)

I’m glad you had such a fun time at YALC But wow, the traveling sounds intense!
Ha yes but all was well in the end 🙂
Even though your return journey sounds more like a nightmare, I’m sure that all those books you had to carry so… perilously will compensate the stress 🙂
They did Maddalena!
Glad to hear the YALC was a hit. No fun trying to drag luggage around in the pouring rain! I can’t believe we’re already at the end of the year. I’ll check out your Blogmas. Maybe I’ll participate. 🙂
Oh that would be amazing!
I’m glad YALC was fun! I’ve never met another book blogger in real life. It would be a cool experience.
It’s a cool experience every time!
YALC sounds awesome! It always sounds like you have a blast going there. I hope blogmas will turn out to be a stress-free success for me! 😀

So glad that YALC was great! Even with the train snafu. 🙂 And no bed bugs. that’s a win.
Indeed!
Sorry the return trip was stressful, but it sounds like the event was amazing. And, you’re famous! Look at that. I abhor daylight savings. I wish it would go away.
