Hi friends,
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
Today’s theme is: a Thanksgiving freebie!
So I decided to talk about all that books are for me, what they bring in my life and why they are so much more than ink and words on pages!
BOOKS:
-Allow me to evade in other worlds like:

-Help me cry and release all my locked emotions. That was especially true after my father’s passing when I was unable to cry and felt like a steamer ready to burst!

-Make me laugh (maniacally) when I am feeling low.

–Opened (and still open) my eyes on others struggles and help erase misconceptions.

-Motivated me to broaden my horizon, take on challenges and push my limits in creating a self hosted blog!

-Helped me find my creative streak again! The one I had abandoned since my teenage years passed. First with photography (bookstagram) then creating bookish funko pops and most recently painting book edges!

-Had me travel the world to go meet favorite writers!

-Made me meet incredibly supportive friends throughout the world. Most time virtually but sometimes, in person too!
-Helped me survive isolation and lockdown!
–Took a good portion of my wealth when I bought (and still am buying) all the special editions, bookish candles and bookish merch in general!
And let’s not forget that books are excellent conversation starter!
Thanks for reading!
Sophie

Fantastic post, Sophie! I love what you said about opening your eyes to others’ struggles. A good book truly can do that. And I had to laugh at books taking your wealth. LOL I think we can all relate!
Aww I love this post so much! And I can only agree with all of these, Sophie!
Thank you Lindsey!
I just love this post so much and yes books are so much than words on a page. They really help us when we least expect it and give us that outlet that we need. I adore seeing a Brandon Sanderson on your list though.
Thank you Renee! And I need to read more of his books!
Love this Sophie! I absolutely love it when a book makes me laugh out loud!
