Synopsis
Bearded, bad-boy barber Knox prefers to live his life the way he takes his coffee: Alone. Unless you count his basset hound, Waylon.
Knox doesn’t tolerate drama, even when it comes in the form of a stranded runaway bride.
Naomi wasn’t just running away from her wedding. She was riding to the rescue of her estranged twin to Knockemout, Virginia, a rough-around-the-edges town where disputes are settled the old-fashioned way…with fists and beer. Usually in that order.
Too bad for Naomi her evil twin hasn’t changed at all. After helping herself to Naomi’s car and cash, Tina leaves her with something unexpected. The niece Naomi didn’t know she had. Now she’s stuck in town with no car, no job, no plan, and no home with an 11-year-old going on thirty to take care of.
There’s a reason Knox doesn’t do complications or high-maintenance women, especially not the romantic ones. But since Naomi’s life imploded right in front of him, the least he can do is help her out of her jam. And just as soon as she stops getting into new trouble he can leave her alone and get back to his peaceful, solitary life.
At least, that’s the plan until the trouble turns to real danger.

A short review for that story that deserves 4,5 stars !
This was my first Lucy Score’s book.
I had heard friends raving about her books but never tried them.
This book is a grumpy/sunshine small town romance with great characters and interesting side characters who will probably get their own stories one day!
Naomi is the good twin and the bride on the run.
She has always wanted to please everyone, to care for everyone and to make up for her evil twin Trina.
She is a strong heroine and deeply bound by duty.
She is a “walk the line” type of girl but when she’ll flee her wedding to come to the rescue of her evil twin, just to be robbed and stranded by Trina, her life will take a whole other turn!
Suddenly, she will discover that she has a niece, abandoned by her mother into her care and she will be helped by big, handsome, muscled and grumpy Knox!
The man swore to never have a serious relationship but he can’t help saving Naomi like a true knight would do!
Soon enough the whole town and Knox’s sexy brother Nash alongside mysterious Lucian will be enamored with Naomi, giving us that small town vibe protecting their own.
I loved Naomi, she was a courageous heroine, determined to love and care for her niewe Waylay.
I loved Waylay too, eleven bordering on thirty! That kid was a STEM, quiet, shy, smart and had been delt bad cards in life so far.
Of course I loved sexy barber Knox, even if I wanted to bash his skull more than once when he couldn’t see what was right in front of him!
And I loved Steph the gay best friend, Liza the excentric grand mother, Sloane the vixen librarian and so many other characters!
I had a great time reading the book. It was a mix of light, fun and emotion!
That won’t be my last book from Lucy Score!
