Hi dear friends,

Today is Sunday, and I am back from my business trip! Yay! Time to have a chat with you about what happened in my life and on the blog last week, linking back to The Sunday Post @caffeinatedreviewer!

But first I wish all the mothers a Happy Mother’s Day!

In my private life first

Well I told you last Sunday that I would be away the whole week on a business trip and that’s what happened!

And that’s pretty much all of it as the week was filled with work.

We went to Antwerp and Ghent (you can look it up on Google or have a look at the few pictures below) meaning that I spoke Dutch the whole week from 8 AM when we began working till 10 PM or midnight (end of the day).

I have never had such intense training in my life going for 14 to 16 hours a day!!!!! No kidding.

I slept 5 hours a night and had no time at all to read because I did prefer walking very early in the towns I resided in and discover their beauty!

Have a peek at Antwerp and Ghent below and tell me if Belgium is not beautiful 😀

This above was in Antwerp!

And these two (above and below) are from Ghent City!

I had to steal moments to look at my phone and try to answer to your comments or comment on your own posts.

By the way I know I have tons of comments to reply to but I am working my way on them!

On the blog (click on the graphic to read the post)

Luckily I had planned many posts ahead (for once) but only had one review planned.

On Monday I talked about my April reads and my favorite books

On Tuesday in the Top 5 Tuesday I did a huge post with books I’d like to reread .

My Can’t Wait Wednesday was all about a book I can’t wait for you to read (and me to hold it in my greedy hands): A Sorcery of Thorns.

And Tuesday I gave you a piece of my mind about mandatory readings in school and asking you what you’d like to change!

On the blogosphere

I tried to blog hop but did not get many time…. still I spotted this interesting post! The Devouring Books explains how to get ARCs and it’s pretty exhaustive!

How to get ARCs – A Guide

And for Greg (and you all) as usual a quizz to ask you to build a fantasy world and discover who your Pokemon partner would be!

Build a Fantasy World & We’ll Reveal Your Perfect Pokémon Partner

Pfew now excuse me while I rush to reply and comment!

How was your week????

Thanks for reading me especially this whole week while I was away!

Sophie

    1. If you visit Thing 1 (or 2) in London Trisy just let me know and we’ll arrange something as the Eurostar goes from London to Brussels in less than 2 hours!

  1. Wow, sounds like you had a very busy week! Thanks for sharing your photos from Belgium. I’ve never been there but have always wanted to because it’s so beautiful there.

  2. Glad your trip went well and all those amazing pictures! I love it and yes it is beautiful! Have a great week. I have to still hop around so no worries just wanted to stop in and say hello!

  3. Happy Mothers Day! Sounds like you had a good trip! Antwerp and Ghent look amazing. Nice pics.

And yeah that sounds like a killer quiz.:)

  4. Wow, I’m seriously in awe of your language skills. I know maybe, or I should say, I only remember a couple of words in Dutch, and even then probably mange them! Oh, how I seriously love Belgium too. It’s been a long time since I was last in Antwerp or Ghent, but they look like bugs in amber, unchanged.

Of course, I hope you had a great trip despite all the work, and have some lovely memories. And happy MOther’s Day to you and your mum!

    1. Where are you from Alexandra! You told somewhere that Canada welcomed you so what’s your birth country?

  5. When I have some money and time, I will fly over! Lol. Anyway, I still have the rest of the US to see and Canada as well as Mexico and South America ( which I intently studied in college). I do not know Dutch or French an I know no Spanish. I inky know English, which, in the grand scheme of things, is a handicap. I need to learn some languages.

  6. I love your Antwerp and Ghent pictures and would love to see both these cities for myself – although not under such intense conditions as your trip!
We are watching a DVD boxset of the TV series Salamander at the moment and (with the help of English subtitles) I can make out what quite a lot of what everyone is saying which is fun. I love learning about how languages are linked to each other

    1. That’s what I love in learning languages too! Many languages are linked indeed like Dutch and German with English . Or French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese!

  7. I’ve only been to Ghent once, it looks nice but I’ve never felt the attraction… I love Antwerp though and the people there… I went to school there btw so many moons ago :-). Happy Mother’s Day Sophie, I hope you have a lovely day!

    1. Thank you Inge! Well both towns are really lovely and I am surprised no more movies are filmed there! It was a real treat to walk early on the desert streets with the small boutiques 😉

  8. Your business trip photos are beautiful!! Although your trip seemed exhausting at least you got to sight see a little bit!! I hope you have a great week!!

  9. I’ve only passed through Belgium before but it’s a wonderful country. Your photos are amazing. Thanks for sharing them with us. Bet you’re glad to be back though 😉
