Hi dear friends!
Today’s best book of 2019 is my best contemporary book read in 2019!
This book is truly unique and will be featured in other categories (that’s how impressed I was by that book).
The Reckless Oath We Made by Bryn Greenwood
As I will feature the book in other posts, I’ll only give you the synopsis today and my recommendation to JUST READ IT!
Synopsis
A provocative love story between a tough Kansas woman on a crooked path to redemption and the unlikeliest of champions, from the New York Times bestselling author of All the Ugly and Wonderful Things.
Zee is nobody’s fairy tale princess. Almost six-foot, with a redhead’s temper and a shattered hip, she has a long list of worries: never-ending bills, her beautiful, gullible sister, her five-year-old nephew, her housebound mother, and her drug-dealing boss.
Zee may not be a princess, but Gentry is an actual knight, complete with sword, armor, and a code of honor. Two years ago the voices he hears called him to be Zee’s champion. Both shy and autistic, he’s barely spoken to her since, but he has kept watch, ready to come to her aid.
When an abduction tears Zee’s family apart, she turns to the last person she ever imagined–Gentry–and sets in motion a chain of events that will not only change both of their lives, but bind them to one another forever.
What’s your favorite contemporary book read in 2019?
Thanks for reading!
Looking forward to reading this one for sure! I think my favorite contemporary was A Place Without You by Jewel E Ann
I have read that one Vicky! I liked it but as I just had lost my dad it was painful for me…
I can’t wait to read this book! I’m not sure what my favorite contemporary book of the year is. I’ve got to go over my list.
Honestly I had to have a look at my GR list to make these blogmas posts 😉
That must’ve been a good one if it made it to two of your categories. My favorite contemproary romance book of the year was Summer Haikus by SJ Pajonas, it was a re-read and I loved it as much as the first time I read it. As for my favorite contemporary romance that released this year is probably Shy Girl vs Popular Guy by Jordan Ford.
OOoh thank you Lola! Adding these to my ever growing TBR!
Ooh, this sounds good! I like heroes/heroines who aren’t ‘perfect’ according to standards. Thanks for the recommendation, Sophie 🙂
You are so welcome Jacquie!!!
