Hi friends,

Today is THE day in this blogmas to tell me: what was (were) your best book read in 2019? 🤔

Choosing one book among the more than 128 that I have read this year would be impossible. Every time someone asks me to choose I feel like choosing my favorite kid! So you’ll have two winners (and it was hard!)

I would also say that all the books I’ve gushed about this month are somewhat my “bests” reads of 2019 my BIG WINNERS are ….

Birthday by Meredith Russo (I spot some eyerolls ….yes I know I’ve been obsessed with it! ).

I have gushed aplenty about this one but he is my winner because I know that it will be a book that will stay with me for a very long time. It opened my eyes to transgender’s suffering and I will never be the same for this.

The Reckless Oath We Made by Bryn Greenwood.

This one is my second choice because of Bryn Greenwood’s audacity and courage. When you read it you know that this is an author that will NEVER write something because it would sell or because it would be hype. She comes with her crazy ideas, something that should never have worked but thanks to her penmanship and enormous talent she created something just fabulous!

Among my other winners this month, I’d like to praise once more:

A Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson;

The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes;

Moti on the Water by Leylah Attar.

That’s it!!!!
Tomorrow I’ll host a BestBookOf2019 giveaway where one lucky winner will win one physical copy of one of the books on my feed this month!

Now do tell me what was your best of the bests read in 2019?

Thanks for reading!

Sophie

  1. I’ve been feeling that I’ve been singing the praises of certain books all month long… glad to know I’m not alone! πŸ™‚ I truly loved The Reckless Oath We Made and feel like Greenwood created something truly special with that one.
