Today is Sunday time to look back in the rearview mirror and talk about my week .Β I am linking up to the Sunday Post hosted for years by Kimberly@caffeinatedreviewerΒ .

In my private life

Since two weeks ago, my latest Sunday Post, I have celebrated my 51 birthday!

Funny how I thought I would be depressed when I would turn 50 and over because none of that happened!

Maybe this will hit me later but so far, even with more wrinkles and pains here and there when I overdo things, I don’t mind being in my fifties. Is it wisdom??

We went to the Chineese restaurant to celebrate with the hubby and the kids.

It was one of our, very rare this summer, gorgeous sunny days and we were able to eat outside in the garden with a splendid view overlooking the river.

Another thing worth mentioning here maybe is that I ordered a new car!

I have a leasing thanks to my company and it was time to find a new ride. With the governmental decisions to put heavy taxes on cars riding on fossil fuels and my need to do something for our poor planet, I wanted a full electric car.

After looking into several options and going for a test drive I chose the Hyundai Ionic5 balance in digital teal green color.

Here is what it looks like..

We’ll have to instal an electric charging station at home. We already have solar panels so it should come handy in charging the car.

Last thing, if you want to see some of my latest reels on Instagram, here they are πŸ˜‰

When I am doing some magic…

And this one is to praise Amy Harmon!

On the blog these past two weeks (click on the graphic to read the post)

This week I only posted one review (because I just wanted to read and flew through books, no time to write reviews πŸ˜†Β  ) so I am adding the reviews from the week before.

The Witch Haven by Sasha Peyton Smith reminded me of the Diviners by Libba Bray. An amasingly atmospherical book!

Radar Girl by Sara Ackerman was the first book I have read about women in the Pacific Air Defense!

And Fire with Fire by Destiny Somia was a very pleasant surprise and a buddy read with @cjrtb_books

Thanks for reading!

  1. Happy belated birthday, Sophie! Turning 50 didn’t bother me a bit… glad you felt the same. I’ll turn 53 this year and am not bothered in the least. Just another year to enjoy the people around me. πŸ™‚
Congrats on the new car! Sounds like a picked a good one. πŸ™‚

  2. Happy birthday, Sophie! And you got a car as a present! I absolutely love the color you picked. I’ve never seen this car, it might not be available in the U.S.

  3. Happy birthday! I love the color of your new car. I have a hybrid which will go about 60 miles (97 km) before I need gas. I almost never go farther so I only get gas on long trips, maybe once a year. I plug into a regular outlet and it charges overnight. I could get a faster charger but I haven’t needed it.

  4. We’re a little over 6 months apart, Sophie! I turned 51 this year as well. I didn’t mind it. Happy birthday! I have a library copy of Radar Girls I need to get to before it expires. Have a great week!

  5. Happy birthday, Sophie! I’m glad you had a lovely day and have taken your 50’s (so far) in your stride! πŸ™‚
