Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This week’s theme is our most read authors.
Honestly when I began looking at my shelves on Goodreads, I was sometimes surprised by the sheer amount of books I had read by some of them!
Yes I had vaguely knew that they were my “most read” but so many books??? Wow!
Let’s list them and illustrate with one of their books!
Tijan : 22 books read of hers!
Jennifer L Armentrout (also J Lynn): 16 books read
Emma Scott : 13 books read
Cassandra Clare : 13 books read
Amy Harmon: 13 books read
Ken Follett : 12 books read
Tillie Cole : 12 books read
Sarah J Maas: 11 books read
Jewel E Ann: 8 books read
Kate Stewart : 7 books read
What are your most read authors?
Thanks for reading!
Sophie
Nice list! I enjoyed Armentrout’s Lux and The Dark Elements series but I gave one of her romance books a chance and unfortunately it wasn’t for me. My most read authors are probably Ruby Dixon, Cassandra Clare, J.R Ward, Rick Riordan, Richelle Mead and Sarah J. Maas.
You’ve read 12 Ken Follett books?!?! Omg they’re HUGE!!!
Impressive list! I’d have to look back at my Goodreads to find out who I’ve read the most but off the top of my head: Kristen Ashley and J.R. Ward of course!!! At my last count, I’d read close to 50 books by KA!
Oh wow, you have definitely read a lot by these authors! It also makes a lot of sense if they have series because then you have to read all of them. My most read are probably from my childhood as I finish less series now. So Michael Grant and Malorie Blackman.
I’m determined to read something by both Kate Stewart and Jewel E. Ann soon!
What a fun post! I know I’ve read almost every JLA and LL book, so they’re probably up at the top of my most read authors. ♥
Wow, this is impressive. I don’t have anywhere near the number totals you have for some of these authors.
I’ve read so many Clare and Maas books!
I’m pretty sure Sarah J. Maas would be on my list as well. And George R. R. Martin. However, I read the most books (at least I think so) by Rick Riordan.
I am going to need to take a look at my own reading habits now! Armentrout is one that I have lots of on my shelf that need to be read. I guess I had better crack some of them open and catch up with you. 😉
Woooah. That’s awesome.
Thank you Poulami!
Nice list, Sophie! I have a feeling mine would be cozy and horror authors.
Oh I think so too Laura!
I just love seeing your most read author lists and I just adore Armentrout, haven’t read too much of her, but have loved what I have picked up so far!! And Tijan is a new one for me, but looking forward to exploring that author more!!
I hope Tijan will work for you Renee!
Yes to Cassie Clare lol! And wow, I totally didn’t realize Sarah J. Maas has written so many books! Great post
I know! Crazy right?
This a great list of authors!
Thank you Kayla!
Hmm, if I did this topic, I think I would go straight to my favorite series first 😀 Pretty sure the authors of the ones I love that are 10+ books long will be on there, haha! Seeing this, I had no idea Ken Follett wrote so many books! And Tijan seems to be a very popular author for many!
Ken Follett has written many more books Mogsy!
This was interesting. Top author is JR Ward with 25. Then Susan E Phillips with 22. Tied for 19 are Suzanne Brockman, Sherrilyn Kenyon and Nora Roberts. At 18 is Tijan. At 17 is Katie MacAlister. Tied at 16 is Kristan Higgins, Dean Koontz and LJ Shen. Then tied at 15 each are Jewel E Ann, Emma Scott, Patricia Briggs, TM Frazier and Nora Roberts.
WOW I had no idea JR Ward had written so many books!
I definitely rack up those authors who put out series. SJM and Cassandra Clare appear on my read shelf a bunch of times, and I have Emma Scott on there 8 times too.
Just off the top of my head I’d say: Stephen King, JD Robb, Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child, Dean Koontz, and Rachel Caine.
Ken Follett I’ve never read…. saw there was a series based on his books though? Sounds pretty good!
Tijan, Amy Harmon and Jewel E Ann should be on my list too, but they won’t ever get into the top 10 if I have authors like Nora Roberts, JD Robb, Lisa Kleypas and all the old school authors I’ve read over the last 20 years on there, who have written 50-100 books and more. Many I have never even tracked on GR – lol. Like Amanda Quick, Julie Garwood, and Julia Quinn. I need to list my Top Ten Authors over the last 10 years
Wow this is great. Did you manually have to add book you had read up by authors or is there another way?
