Hi dear friends!

It’s Sunday again and that means that the time has come to look into the rearview mirror and chat about my week out and on the blog!

As usual I am linking up to The Sunday Post hosted by Kimberly @caffeinatedreviewer

In real life first

This week was exhausting at work with my train breaking down on the way back from work on Thursday! We had fifty minutes delay… just what we need at the end of a hard work day right?

BUT

I also have great news!

First my daughter got a room in the dorms at university!!!!

It was her first choice a quiet place in a green part of the town. Not too far from the building where she’ll study to become a veterinarian either.

We are so relieved! It was not a guarantee as we don’t live so far from university to be on the top of their list for a room!

I think we both did a happy dance when the letter came in the mail.

We plan to visit that place within two weeks. So more later.

My second great news is that I finally did make the candles I was boring you out with last week!

On Friday I worked to place all the stickers on one page and went to the print shop. It already looked great!

Then yesterday, it was D Day!

I had all that I needed to make the candles. I spent hours working on five candles but as I really love four of them I’ll show you only these four below.

I made mistakes. And I had to get creative to hide them!

But I had fun and I learned from these mistakes!

Expect another post with all the “step by step” and backstage but you can already see the end result here below (sorry for the poor quality of the pictures I took them with my phone ….).

I may only have reviewed one book (but what book!) but I read/listened to two more!

I read an ARC of Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson but the review will come in June, closer to the release date. I adored it!

I listened to Skyward by Brandon Sanderson. Expect a review next week but it was phenomenal!

So for the book I read and reviewed: Method by Kate Stewart. A five stars!!!

On Tuesday Shanah asked us what our mind blowing mystery/thriller were! I had to dig deep as this is not my most read genre.

Then on Wednesday I posted my first Can’t Wait Wednesday as I had just learned the day before about Susan Ee’s next book and I just HAD TO shout about it!!!

Finally, my weekly discussion post was a light one: how do you choose your next book crush! Not just your next read but the one that will sweep you off your feet.

On the blogsophere

Let’s have a quizz to decide what type of reader you are!

Then I have been really buried in my cave and did not blog hop much but … Kristina speaks about genres she never knew axisted prior blogging!

That’s it! Now do tell me how was your week?

Thanks for reading.

Sophie

  1. The Candles looks beautiful, Sophie and Congrats about your daughter! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Sorcery Of Thorns! It’s one of my most anticipated reads of 2019!
I hope you have a great week and Happy reading! 🙂

  2. Your candles look amazing!!! I love the little charms on the top! And they look super professionally done! I would totally buy those if I saw them in a store! (I can’t buy candles online because I am super picky about scents 🙁 )

    1. Oh I am also picky about the scents Brittany! Too sugare or overpowering and I am out! Thank you <3

  3. Those candles are BEAUTIFUL!!! I love that you took the time to do them and I hope you’re super proud of yourself because my brain hurts just imagining myself doing them hahah

And the news about your daughter finding that dorm room is awesome! Hope you’ll be filled with great news throughout this week and the month of May, Sophie! 😀

    1. Thank you so much Lashaan! Truth is I always loved craft and my mom was an art teacher. She always tried her new ideas on me before asking her pupils to realize them. So I have had lots of practice and fun as a kid!

  4. That’s great news about the room for your daughter. It’s hard to score a room on campus at the best of times. I hope it works out.

As for those candles? Wow, Sophie, you are so talented. I think they look as good as any professional one we can buy in a shop. Even more so, as I’d far rather buy direct from you and get something handmade, and personal. What great gifts these will make.

    Bravo!

  5. Congrats about your daughter! The candles turned out nice. I want to give Kate Stewart a try sometime. I loved One of Us is Lying! Happy reading, Sophie! 🙂

    1. Hahaha I don’t usually burn them either Laura but use them as prop in my bookstagrams!

  6. Ooh, I love candles! What fun. Thanks for sharing.

    Congrats on your daughter’s room.

I have a lot of ARCs being released in August, and I think I need to read a few before then, even though I can’t post the review until closer to release day.

Enjoy your week, and thanks for visiting my blog.

  7. I like the look of your candles too, Sophie. In fact, your whole week seems rather successful which is great.
I like what you’ve shared so I clicked that follow button and look forward to reading more of your posts. x
