Today is Sunday time to look back in the rearview mirror and talk about my week . I am linking up to the Sunday Post hosted for years by Kimberly@caffeinatedreviewer .
In my private life
Well for once it’s hard to say happy Sunday to you because we had to say goodbye to my dog after sixteen years of love.
Last week I told everything about her getting blind and this week she had so many spasm that her behind was always falling on the ground, literally like having her legs/paws cut.
She was deaf, blind and had neurological problems it seems. She was also so anxious at night that she was barking the whole night, feeling alone.
Knowing that it wouldn’t get better and wanting to avoid her to have to suffer physically, we took the hardest decision to put her to rest on Friday.
My husband cried the whole day before going to the vet, I cried the whole procedure and the whole evening as well as my son and daughter.
We were all devastated.
Now, after two days, I am calmer and feel better, convinced after seeing old videos of her full of energy and playing with us that it was the right choice. It was not a life for her any longer.
My husband asked me to make a collage with her pictures and that’s what I intend to do now.
Here is the (modified) collage (sans my daughter’s face).

Needless to say that there was nearly no blog hop last week and I have yet to reply to comments but I had programmed two reviews.

That’s it.
I will do my best to catch up with you all next week.
Sophie

I am so sorry for you loss, Sophie. It’s so hard to say goodbye and let them go. They bring so much love and joy into our lives and I know how much your dog meant to you. She was lucky to have you and I know you were lucky to have her in your lives.
Thank you!
Ohnoo im so sorry.. but it is indeed for the best. I remember when I was 10 we had to put our family dog to sleep as he had IVDD (spine problems, created by long legs and too short back- flipped of dachshunds) and he spent the whole night crying in pain
That’s what happened to me Kristine (the crying)
I’m so, so sorry, Sophie. You and your family provided her a loving, forever home. Sending lots of hugs.
Thank you Teri!
The collage is beautifully done, Sophie. She has a beautiful long life with your family and will always be in your hearts. Giving you all the hugs!
Thank you Stephanie!
So sorry about your dog, Sophie it is absolutely the worst feeling. I felt like I would never recover when I lost my Otis, it took a long time. Hugs!
Thank you Tammy!
I am so, so very sorry. But she had a good life! I am sorely aware of how attached I am to Lulu every day. She’s 7 so hopefully we have some time. I’m still sad about the two dogs in my life before her but I wasn’t with them all days most days like I am with Lulu.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
And I hope you will have long days with Lulu Anne!
What a beautiful, long life your dog enjoyed with you. So sorry.
Thank you Sam!
I’m so sorry Sophie.
Thank you Susan!
I’m so so sorry! I know how hard it is to have to make that decision, even when it is obvious, it still hurts so much. My Dora is 14 now, and I can see more issues happening that I may have to think about it, almost had to with a possibly back injury earlier this year. Keeping your family in my thoughts for that, it’s so hard and I know even when you think things are better, it will still pop up and hit hard. Hopefully you can do some reading to get your mind to better places at times. I hope you have a good week.
Oh I’m so sorry Sophie! We lost my beloved pup in October of last year and it was devastating. It’s just an unimaginable pain. Hugs to you and your family!
I’m so sorry. It’s so hard to make that decision.
