Today is Sunday time to look back in the rearview mirror and talk about my week .Β I am linking up to the Sunday Post hosted for years byΒ Kimberly@caffeinatedreviewerΒ .Β

As this is the first Sunday of December, this will also be my November wrap-up.

In my private life

Happy Sunday!

I am sorry if I have been quite MIA in replying to comments and visiting posts these past two weeks but my life has been …complicated.

First, I have been told by my hierarchy that I had to find a new job. I luckily can stay in the company and they give me time to find something else. So now, I am networking and looking for something that will have me give my best because it will align with my values and skills.

In the meantime, I am still managing my two teams but it’s weird, that period of wait.

We announced it to my colleagues and they were devastated. One even cried and I handed her tissues.

I get tons of messages from my teammates telling me that I have been the best manager they ever had and that I treat them as people, with respect and empathy and not like numbers, which is rare.

At least I have done something right I guess.

But enough with the gloom, I know that I’ll find something great again, I just have to be patient and patience is not my strongest skill LOL

Another reason why I have been inactive on the blog or less active at replying etc is the lack of daylight! It has me so tired that, combined with the strain of the work situation, I fall asleep on the sofa at 9 PM every day!

I guess I was feeling peeved and I made a “ranty” reel, especially after learning what happened to Tillie Cole and her books. It was the cherry on top , the bottom of a long list of witch hunt these last months/years and enough is enough!

And as I needed some magic in my life, I created my own Christmas magic portal!

On the blog this week (click on the graphic to read the post)

Second week of Blogmas and I talk about the best fantasy books I have read this year!

The Hurricane Wars was a book I truly expected and wanted to love but…was disappointed with.

Lucky for me, Defiant was an incredible conclusion to the Skyward series!

Thanks for reading!

  1. I’m so sorry to hear about you job Sophie! That sucks but I hope you’ll find something much better soon! And I totally relate about the lack of daylight and falling asleep at 9 pm every evening.

  2. So sorry to hear about your job, Sophie. I know it was the source of a lot of stress for you, and I have no doubt you’ll find something you enjoy. Love the Christmas portal!

  3. oh no! That just sounds so awful. At least they are giving your time to find something else. Hope you find something that works better for you in the long run. I am also done with the witch hunts! And its just going after authors but readers that support them too. Its just ridiculous.
