Top 5 Tuesday is a meme created by Shanah @Bionicbookwormblog
This week nothing was planned as Shanah enjoys a much needed break but Joe @ jwmartin.com had the brilliant idea to contact several “Top 5 Tuesday” participants to ask us if we wanted to post our “Top 5 of “Top5 Tuesday” for 2017”.
What a wonderful idea to thank Shanah for all the work and passion she has put into this weekly meme in 2017!
I swear that woman never stops 😊
So thank you Joe and for your eyes only Shanah (well hopefully for others eyes too) here is my own Top 5 of your 2017 topics.
Number 1 : Top 5 Favourite Book Quotes
Whole post HERE -> https://bewareofthereader.com/top-5-tuesday-favourite-book-quotes/
Why in number one place? Because as a true book lover I am enamored with words. I love their grace, their music and their power. Words and quotes can make you weep with sorrow or elate your soul.
When I am feeling low some quotes are a real kick in my behind and give me energy for the day. Even better than going to the gym I feel ready to embrace the world.
Other times quotes make me think and feel humble. I see that my problems are petty and shallow most of the time.
They also help me to be forgiving.
So yes this top 5 was my favourite and I had to battle to stop at so little quotes!
Now just one for you ladies that is not book related but that I found so true in my years of being put into boiling water:
“A woman is like a tea bag; you never know how strong it is until it’s in hot water.”
Number 2 : Top 5 Favourite Covers
Original post HERE -> https://bewareofthereader.com/top-5-tuesday-favourite-covers/
After words empowering my soul here comes a second very important side of my personality: I am an artist who has been asleep for thirty years now and who is awakening slowly thanks to blogging.
I used to draw all the time and paint. For years I did not have the time and put my creativity under wrap. Now blogging awoke the “beast” and I am loving bookstagrams! Creating graphics, etc. Why? Because I’m a very visual person!
So book covers can sometimes give me covergasm *take the kids away*!!!!
Once again I had to refrain from posting tons of pretty covers. I used this top 5 Tuesday to flaunt some of my bookstagram creations. Bets idea ever Shanah 😉
Number 3: Top 5 Auto Buy Authors
Whole post HERE -> https://bewareofthereader.com/top-5-tuesday-auto-buy-authors/
It’s obvious if you love books you have favorite authors too! These are the ones touching you deeply with their penmanship or making you think or shaking your beliefs or…
I was a bad, bad girl in this top 5 as it became a top 10. No discipline anymore because I’m awed with so many authors that I want to push them on everyone and shout: just read them!
Bossy? Me? Noooo 😉
Number 4: Top 5 Reasons why I blog
Whole post and reasons HERE -> https://bewareofthereader.com/top-5-reasons-why-i-blog/
I really loved this topic. I think it’s important in life to take distance with what we are doing every day and ask some questions like: “Why I am doing this?”, “Does it make sense?”, “Does it fulfill me?”, “Could I do it better?”, etc.
It was ZE moment to think about all the reasons why I began blogging and compare with all the reasons why I am still enjoying blogging. I was really astonished to see the path I followed and the many wonders but also bumps in the road that I discovered this first blogging year.
Number 5: Top 5 buzzwords that make me want to read a book
Whole post with my likes HERE -> https://bewareofthereader.com/top-5-tuesday-top-5-buzzword-that-make-me-want-to-read-a-book/
This top 5 was a very amusing one. I could see that indeed I was a very impulsive reader sometimes as I have some trigger words. Good triggers and bad triggers too but this topic was about the positive ones. I laughed alone writing this post as I can come as very stereotypical I imagine but it was Rae Carson who said once
“ I don’t care if it’s Twilight or Fifty Shades or War and Peace: never let someone make you ashamed of what you love to read”.
See I began on quotes and I am concluding on a quote!
Now a huge thank you to Joe for organizing this Top 5 Tuesday and congratulations to Shanah for feeding us weekly topics!
I wish both of you already a Happy New Year!
If you participated in these Top 5 Tuesday or read mines, what are your favorites?
Thanks for reading!

Awwwwwww!!! I had no idea this was happening and I was so confused with all the ping backs this morning! Surprised absolutely doesn’t come close. I can’t express how much your words (and Joe’s little movement ) has warmed my heart. Thanks so much for joining me every week (and overstressing that you’re “late” when it’s always on time ) and thanks for helping me make Top 5 a success! I can’t tell you how much this means to me!! I hope you had an amazing Christmas!
